Harley-Davidson Street Glide

At first glance, the latest-generation Harley-Davidson Street Glide’s design still resembles its predecessor. Upfront, it flaunts the iconic batwing fairing but with more detail. Unlike the versions that came before it, the fourth-gen Street Glide’s facade is now illuminated by an LED headlamp with daytime running light strips on each side. This touring motorcycle also gets a new windshield, which can help reduce rider fatigue.

Owners of this model are treated to a 12.3-inch Skyline OS full-color TFT infotainment display that is equipped with Bluetooth hands-free and is connected to a 2-speaker sound system (placed inside the tourer’s fairings). You also get a well-padded saddle that offers good support and ergonomics for both the rider and the pillion, regardless if you are filtering through traffic or eating up miles on the highway. 

In terms of practicality and convenience, this touring motorcycle comes with built-in saddlebags, which offer plenty of room for your personal belongings. It also comes with an electric power outlet inside its inner fairing storage. 

On the sides, the Standard version comes with elegant-looking parts made with aluminum. Meanwhile, the Black Trim features a sportier, more brutish-looking silhouette, accentuated by its blacked-out parts. It has a modern-looking rear illuminated by LED taillights with integrated turn signals.

In terms of dimensions, the Harley-Davidson Street Glide measures 2,410 mm in length, 975 mm in width, 1,350 mm in overall height, and 715 mm in unladen seat height. This tourer comes with a 1,625-mm wheelbase and a 140-mm ground clearance. The Street Glide runs on 19-inch front and 18-inch rear contrast cut aluminum wheels.

The Harley-Davidson Street Glide comes with a 49-mm Dual Bending Valve Fork at the front and 76.2-mm Dual Outboard Emulsion Shocks with Preload Adjustability at the rear. Similar to the Road Glide, this touring motorcycle is a bit difficult to maneuver through tight traffic and narrow city streets because of its frame (despite being a bit lighter than the former). 

But, on the plus side, the Street Glide delivers a very comfortable and stable riding experience both on the highway and free-flowing public urban roads. Additionally, this tourer also delivers sharp and agile handling even on the most unpleasant winding roads. 

Powering the Harley-Davidson Street Glide is a 1,923-cc Milwaukee-Eight 117 engine that produces a maximum power output of 105 hp and a maximum torque of 176 Nm. This touring motorcycle runs on Harley-Davidson’s 6-speed Cruise Drive transmission system.

Off the line, the Street Glide is impressively swift and lively. As you go up the rev range, its engine produces an inspiring roar that’ll definitely catch the attention of the people around you. This tourer just makes light work of quick overtakes on free-flowing expressways. Similar to its cousin, the Road Glide, it is more ideal for weekend highway cruising or long-distance touring than daily city commuting.

In terms of safety, the Harley-Davidson Street Glide is equipped with an anti-lock braking system. This touring motorcycle utilizes dual floating rotors for front braking, while a fixed rotor for the rear.

The Harley-Davidson Street Glide is a very well-rounded motorcycle. It is a comfortable and very refined long-distance tourer and, at the same time, a respectable and attention-grabbing high-speed cruiser.
