Hero Hunk

At first glance, you wouldn’t expect the Hero Hunk to belong to the 160cc class because of its brutish, big-bike appearance. Its aggressive naked silhouette, complemented by a bulky fuel tank and a pair of 17-inch alloy wheels, exudes power and confidence whenever it passes by. Upfront, its face, which resembles a wasp, is illuminated by a sharp-looking LED headlight assembly with a position lamp. 

Its side profile is defined by a mix of muscular fairings and exposed naked elements, finished in monotone shades, as seen in its black heat guard, sporty belly pan, and exhaust. At the back, it also gets an LED tail lamp with LED winkers, which is quite impressive for its price point. This streetfighter also comes with a rear mudguard that helps reduce water and dirt splashes

Upfront, the rider gets an LCD display with an adjustable brightness feature, which offers Bluetooth connectivity with SMS and call alert, well-positioned handlebars, and a plush dual-stepped seat. Its seat offers great cushioning and ergonomics for both the rider and the pillion even on long-distance rides. Additionally, this bike also comes with a USB charging port for your gadget.  

In terms of dimensions, the Hero Hunk measures 2,029 mm in length, 793 mm in width, 1,052 mm in overall height, and 795 mm in seat height. This bike also comes with a 1,333-mm wheelbase and a 165-mm ground clearance.

In terms of suspension, the Hero Hunk comes with 37-mm Telescopic Forks at the front and a 7-Step Adjustable Monoshock at the rear. Its setup is on the stiffer side of things, allowing the rider to confidently hit turns or corners. It also remains very composed and stable even at high speeds. But, the good thing about its stiff suspension is that it doesn’t compromise the rider’s comfort level when passing through rough and uneven concrete roads inside the city. Overall, the Hunk can effectively deliver a supple riding experience for you and your pillion, regardless if you are cruising at high speeds on the highway or filtering through traffic.

The Hero Hunk is powered by a 163-cc, 4-stroke, air-oil cooled, 4-valve engine that delivers a maximum power output of 16.9 PS and a maximum torque of 14.6 Nm. This streetfighter’s motor is mated to a 5-speed constant mesh (manual) transmission gearbox. The Hunk is also equipped with Hero’s Smart Sensor Xsens Technology, which enhances fuel efficiency, throttle response, and overall performance.

That said, the Hunk can deliver an exceptional performance for its class. It accelerates with immense enthusiasm, allowing you to confidently overtake slower vehicles on free-flowing highways. Its constant mesh transmission also helps you perform upshifts and downshifts smoothly. And, on top of this, it delivers very respectable fuel economy, even when ridden in a spirited manner. All in all, the Hunk is a respectable high-speed cruiser and, at the same time, a cost-effective daily city commuter.

In terms of safety, the Hero Hunk is equipped with an anti-lock braking system, side stand engine cut off, hazard warning lights, and heat guard that adds protection from exhaust heat. This streetfighter also comes with front and rear petal disc brakes, which offer impressive stopping power even at high speeds.

The Hero Hunk is a very well-rounded motorcycle in the 160cc class. It is a motorcycle that you can comfortably use for your daily city commute and, at the same time, proudly take on weekend rides with friends. That said, it definitely deserves more attention from local consumers.
