Honda Navi

Right off the bat, the Honda Navi’s design looks sporty and approachable at the same time. Its appearance is subtle yet fun. Its two-toned facade exudes a classic vibe, courtesy of its polygonal halogen headlamp. The Standard trim’s headlamp is wrapped in a body-coloured fairing with a black moulding on top, which proudly displays the Honda logo. The Tourer Style comes with a wind screen, while the Adventure Style features a bulged front fairing with a sharp beak. All variants also get bulb-type signal lights. And, underneath, it has a black fender. 

Its side profile displays a stylish contrast of colours through a combination of body-coloured features and monotone finishes. Its plastic fairings are defined by sharp curves and bright branding stickers. This scooter’s integrated storage area is very noticeable from the side. This storage area offers decent room for your important documents and handheld belongings. Similar to the front end, its rear is also illuminated by a classic-looking bulb-type tail lamp with another pair of bulb-type signal lights.

Meanwhile, the rider gets a user-friendly meter panel, a well-positioned handlebar with grips, and a soft saddle. Owners of the Tourer and Adventure-Styled trims are also given a pair of knuckle guards, which can enhance their overall experience on the road. For added convenience and improved comfort, this scooter also comes with built-in rubber foot pegs, foldable pillion foot rests, and a grab bar at the back.

In terms of dimensions, the Honda Navi measures 1,808 mm in length, 748 mm in width, 1,039 mm in overall height, and 762 mm in seat height. This scooter also comes with a wheelbase of 1,286 mm and a ground clearance of 148 mm. The Navi runs on a pair of composite wheels (front: 12-inch, rear: 10-inch).

The Honda Navi comes with a Telescopic Fork suspension at the front and a Mono-Cushioned Swingarm at the rear. Its setup is credited for this scooter’s light steering and nimble maneuvering through narrow streets and tight parking spaces. Filtering through traffic is also not a problem for the Navi. For its size, it also offers decent absorption of small bumps and minor road imperfections. Ultimately, you and your passenger will be able to enjoy a supple and very city-friendly ride on this scooter.

Powering the Honda Navi is a 109-cc, 4-stroke, 2-valve, SOHC, air-cooled engine that produces a maximum power output of 5.89 kW (8 PS) and a maximum torque of 8.91 Nm. This scooter’s motor is mated to an automatic (V-Matic) transmission gearbox with a Honda Eco Technology (HET).

With all of these in mind, the Navi has adequate power and torque to make your daily city commutes easier and cost-effective. Its transmission is surprisingly smooth and responsive for its price. In addition, this scooter offers a respectable fuel economy even when riding in mixed conditions. 

However, since its engine has limited power, it would be hard to overtake slower cars on free-flowing roads. But, to be fair, this bike is designed to be ridden sensibly inside the city. At the end of the day, the Navi is a well-designed urban cruiser that can run smoothly and efficiently despite its limitations.

In terms of safety, the Navi is equipped with Honda’s Combined Braking System (CBS). This scooter utilizes mechanical leading trailing drums for both front and rear braking.
