Isuzu E-Series

While the exterior design of the Isuzu E-Series looks very much modern, the same thing cannot be said about the interior cabin. The cabin lacks modernity and looks too simple and outdated.

There is a large curved housing present behind the plain two-spoke steering wheel, which houses an outdated looking analog instrument console on one side and rectangular switch panel and AC vents on the other end.

The lower part of the center console in the middle comes integrated with plain vacant rectangular housing, which can either be used for storing small things or fitment of a 2-DIN audio system. There are a couple of cup holders present just beside the transmission lever, which is placed just adjacent to the driver seat.

The Isuzu E-Series takes a leaf from the passenger-oriented vehicles from Isuzu when it comes to design. There are a couple of bits derived from vehicles like the D-Max pickup truck and MU-X SUV, which do manage to give a contemporary look to the Isuzu E-Series, at least when it comes to its look when viewed from the front.

At the front, the main thing which grabs one’s attention has to be the two-slat large chrome grille placed right in the middle of the front profile. This grille, as stated, comes with two big H-shaped chrome slats housed in a large trapezoidal housing, which has rounded corners and an upper curved edge.

The windshield at the top is large, but looks sleek and comes with three different wiper setup and two grab handles below it. The side edges of the front apron of the Isuzu E-Series have been given a curved effect, with slight protrusions shaped in trapezoidal form.

The large and tall front bumper at the bottom further manages to enhance the overall height of the truck and make it look tall. The rectangular headlamps with curved effect in their designs and chrome surrounds for them are placed in the corners of the front bumper. There is a large trapezoidal grille in the center which is designed as the lower part of the grille.

The side profile of the Isuzu E-Series comes with an S-shaped curved character line flowing across the width of the door panels. The Isuzu E-Series is one of those few trucks, which comes with body-coloured vertical rearview mirrors, which are hinged on the door panels. The door panels also come with vertical door handles finished in black and clear lens turn indicators placed at their bottom. Even the side steps as well as wheel arch molding have been given body-coloured treatment.

All the variants of the Isuzu E-Series come fitted with a taper leaf spring setup for the suspension at both front and rear. Known for its simple construction, the suspension of the Isuzu E-Series is quite capable when it comes to carrying heavy loads. The Isuzu E-Series gets an auto adjustable full air operated service brake. 

There are two engine options employed for the entire Isuzu E-Series truck range, all of which are inline-six diesel engines that use turbocharger and intercooler. The entry-level models (EXR52 F and EXZ52K) get a 15.7-liter engine which makes 420 PS of power and 1863 Nm of torque. The more premium EXR77 H and EXZ77 N get a smaller 9.8-liter diesel engine which produces 380 PS of power and 1765 Nm of torque. The flagship EXZ52 N gets a 15.7-liter diesel engine which churns out 460 PS of power and 2060 Nm of torque.

The Isuzu E-Series is armed with ABS, which happens to be the only major safety feature onboard.

The modern exterior styling of the Isuzu E-Series somehow manages to mask the tad too basic interior cabin. However, what works the most in favor of the Isuzu E-Series is the fine entire mechanical setup, including the engine and simple but sturdy chassis.
