JMC N720

The overall cabin of the JMC N720 looks quite modern and sophisticated for the standards of commercial vehicles, with a few modern essential features given in the cabin. The overall cabin of the JMC N720 carries a dual-tone black and beige finish, which further enhances the airiness of the cabin. 

The driver’s cockpit of the JMC N720 is a combination of a nice looking two-spoke steering wheel with audio controls on it and a decent looking instrument console behind it. The trapezoidal center console with a rounded theme for its upper edge stands out with its blacked-out theme, and comes with a range of things integrated into it. The upper housing of the center console has small rectangular AC vents and a small storage compartment between them. The lower portion of the center console gets a large 2-DIN audios system with a control panel of manual AC switches below it.

The overall visual appeal of the JMC N720 is exactly the same as that of the JMC N700, with the same design carried out for the front and side profiles of the truck. However, while moving towards the rear, one can point out the difference between the two trucks, as the JMC N720 has a longer wheelbase and an additional set of wheels at the back.

The squared out front profile of the JMC N720 makes it look well-proportioned when viewed head-on. The large windshield present on the upper half of the JMC N720 gets curved edges on the top and tapered styled edges at the bottom. The rearview mirrors of the JMC N720, which have a wraparound design, are mounted on small protrusions which are present just below the lower edges of the windscreen.

The front grille of the JMC N720 has a three-slat horizontal design to it – while the upper two slats have a trapezoidal design, the one in the last has a rectangular layout. On either side of the grille are placed the trapezoidal headlamps in a vertical manner, which do incorporate the main projector bulb for the headlight and turn indicators in their upper housings. The headlamp units have rounded edges on their diagonal ends. The front bumper of the JMC N720 has a blacked-out finish and comes fitted with angular looking fog lamps on either ends.

The plain-looking side profile of the JMC N720 has vertically laid black door handles and conventionally designed window panels. The lower portion of the side door panels also come with shark fin styled clear lens turn indicators.

The overall chassis of the JMC N720, with the ladder on frame chassis, rigid leaf springs at both front and rear and air operated service brake, is exactly the same as that of the smaller N700. However, the JMC N720 comes with a longer wheelbase and two additional wheels at the rear, which does give it a better load carrying capacity to it.

The main powertrain of the JMC N720 is the same 2.8-liter 4-cylinder, Turbo-Intercooler, CRDi, Diesel Engine from the JX493ZLQ4 series engine from the N700. Coupled to the same 5-speed manual gearbox from Getrag, the engine is capable of churning a maximum power output of 108 PS and a maximum torque output of 260 Nm.

The JMC N720 comes equipped with a range of basic safety features such as a GPS tracking device, seat belts with pre-tensioners and load limiters and an electronic security buzzer.

With a slight premium over the N700, the JMC N720 offers a slightly more upmarket cabin, additional load carrying capacity, with the same exterior visual appeal as the N700.
