BYD breaches 3-M sales mark in 2023

BYD revealed that the company has sold more than three million cars in 2023.

According to the Chinese automotive titan, it sold a total of 3,024,417 units last year, allowing it to once again hold the coveted global new energy vehicle (NEV) sales champion title for the second year in a row.

Compared to its overall sales in 2022, BYD saw a 61.9 percent increase, proving that the Shenzhen-based car brand is in league with the big names in the global auto industry.

BYD’s could owe its improved sales to the company’s relentless effort to increase its international presence. To date, the carmaker now has reached over 70 countries, which resulted in the booming export figure reported by the NEV brand.

BYD noted that it exported 242,765 units overseas, a feat that translated to a 334.2-percent growth in the company’s export figures.

“With BYD’s technological prowess and commitment to providing global consumers with more eco-friendly and efficient mobility solutions, coupled with the support from global top-tier partners, BYD’s technology and products have been favored by numerous global consumers and given a multitude of product recognitions,” BYD wrote in a statement.

In the country, BYD has partnered with the Ayala Group. Its offerings locally are made up of models like the Tang, Dolphin, Han, and the recently-launched Atto3.
