The interior of the BYD Sealion-6 offers a spacious, modern, and comfortable interior that's geared towards driver and passenger comfort. The Sealion 6 strikes a good balance between comfort and handling while being more comfort-oriented. The Sealion 6 is a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) equipped with a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder gasoline engine that operates on the Atkinson cycle for better fuel efficiency. The whole is complemented by a permanent magnet synchronous electric motor and BYD’s in-house single-speed, fixed-ratio gearbox Electric Hybrid System Transmission, which merges the power delivery between the engine and the electric motor. 

This system also allows the Sealion 6 three different driving modes: EV Mode, HEV Series Mode, and HEV Parallel Mode. The Sealion 6 Dynamic is capable of 214 hp at 325 Nm of torque, with an acceleration rate of 8.5 seconds from 0 to 100km.   

The Sealion 6 comes with a comprehensive suite of safety features, inclusive of standard modern-day ‘default’ safety features, along with BYD’s own Advanced Driver Assistance Systems. It also comes with BYD’s in-house Blade Battery technology which helps to extend the electric battery’s lifespan and prevents it from incurring thermal runaway.
