MANILA: BYD Cars Philippines appears to be ready to launch a new hybrid vehicle soon, effectively bolstering its portfolio of new-energy vehicles.

Homologation paperwork
The BYD Tang DM-i’s arrival is supported by homologation documents from the Land Transportation Office (LTO).
Per the agency, the hybrid SUV will be equipped with a four-pot, 1.5-liter engine that generates a maximum power output of 268 horsepower and a top speed of 200 kilometers per hour.
It appears to have an estimated range of up to 110 kilometers, thanks to its lithium-ion phosphate battery.
Moreover, it has a plug-in hybrid system that has a charging time of three hours using an AC charging system and 22 minutes using a DC charging system.
