Ford Pro showcases digital solutions at IAA Transport Show 2022

Ford Pro, the Blue Oval brand’s commercial vehicle division, is showcasing a suite of productivity-accelerating digital solutions at the ongoing Internationale Automobil-Ausstellung (IAA) Transport Show in Hanover, Germany.

Highlighted at the company’s booth stand is Ford Pro’s digital solution comprised of a single platform integrating vehicles with software, charging, and connected services — enabling commercial customers to reduce costs and optimize efficiency as they transition to electric vehicles.

And because Ford understands the need to perform some kind of conversion on its Transit commercial vehicles, Ford Pro is also presenting the Upfit Integration System: a first-to-market digital solution that is introduced in Europe on the all-new Transit Custom.

Per Ford Pro, the new system features an interface module that allows seamless connection to the vehicle’s electrical system and also enables conversions to be controlled via the 13-inch Sync 4 touchscreen rather than bolt-on switchgear. As a result, conversions are to be delivered faster and more efficient, as well as potentially improving reliability and safety as converters will not have to modify the cab area or splice into factory wiring to fit controls.

Ford Pro also announced the expansion of its Mobile Service offering in key markets including Germany. Ford Pro’s mobile service provides customers and business owners with a convenient option to have their vehicles serviced even while they’re in the field. Through Ford Pro’s Mobile Service, Ford commercial vehicle owners can still receive the quality and expertise from Ford's trusted technicians using Ford parts.

Ford Pro’s line-up of electric vehicles (EV) led by the all-new E-Transit Custom, which makes its global public debut, is also on display at the event. Ford Pro is also revealing further details about the next-generation Transit Custom range — including plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and EcoBlue diesel-powered derivatives — ahead of the first vehicle deliveries in mid-2023.
