Harman Kardon sound system to be fitted in Volkswagen ID.7

The Volkswagen ID.7 electric sedan is equipped with a premium sound system from Harman Kardon, a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics.

According to the electronics company, the sound system used in the Volkswagen ID.7 consists of 14 speakers with a 16-channel setup including a subwoofer and center speaker. The setup is combined with the Fraunhofer Sonamic Panorama algorithm.

“Harman Kardon and Volkswagen have once again combined their expertise to deliver the best of both the driving and the listening experience. Harman Kardon’s acoustics engineers worked hand-in-hand with the Volkswagen design team to create a sound system that is the perfect match for Volkswagen’s first all-electric limousine,” commented Harman Global Acoustic Systems Engineering Senior Director Greg Sikora.

Additionally, the Harman Kardon sound system for the Volkswagen ID.7 also features sound focus seat optimization technology. This system allows specific seats can be highlighted for the best listening experience, which are all-seat optimization, front seat only, driver only, or rear seat only.

Further, Harman Kardon’s sound focus seat optimization technology also comes with four modes: Pure, Relax, Speech, and Vibrant.

Design-wise, the sound system equipped on the Volkswagen ID.7 features a look that integrates seamlessly with the car’s interior, matching its design language. In a subtle nod to the iconic angled slash of the Harman Kardon logo, the car’s distinctive speaker grills are highlighted by a 60-degree hole pattern and are crafted from ultra-thin 0.5-millimeter high-strength steel for optimal acoustic performance.
