Hino donates PUV unit to PH Lung Center

HMP donation to LCP

Hino Motors Philippines Corporation (HMP) has recently donated a modern public utility vehicle (PUV) unit to the Lung Center of the Philippines.

  • What's the story behind the donated Hino unit?

The aforementioned unit was one of the three vehicles that the company lent out to the government hospital during the height of the pandemic.
  • How will the Lung Center of the Philippines utilize the said unit?

The turned-over example will be used to transport LCP employees.
  • In a statement, the Japanese brand’s local truck distributor shared that the turned over unit was one of the three vehicles that were lent to the state-owned hospital during the height of the pandemic.

HMP said that the unit helped transport LCP’s manpower (health workers and non-medical staff), as well as important medical deliveries when public transport was restricted due to the strict lockdown protocols as LCP was one of the country’s designated COVID-19 referral facilities.

“We are glad to have been able to support our frontline workers and our country during this critical time. At the core of what we do at Hino Motors Philippines is our passion and commitment to bring people and goods to wherever they need to be in the most efficient way possible, and this partnership with LCP has allowed us to do that. We hope that our donation can continue to aid LCP and its frontline workers as they continue to provide the healthcare services that our fellow Filipinos need today,” HMP Chairman Vicente Mills, Jr. said.

For his part, LCP Executive Director Dr. Vicente Balabag said that the donation will enable them to continue offering comfortable daily transportation to their employees.

“We are truly grateful to Hino for this timely and generous donation. The PUV units they lent us during the lockdowns have been very useful in ensuring that our employees are able to come to work safely. This modern PUV that they are turning over to LCP now will help us keep our healthcare workers safe and protected as we continue to face the challenges posed by the pandemic,” Balabag added.

According to HMP, its modern PUV offerings come in fully customizable four-wheeler and six-wheeler variants. “These vehicles have also been awarded the Department of Transportation’s Certificate of Compliance for passing the Philippine National Standard’s requirements and other standards set by the government,” the company noted.
