Honda Cars PH Recalls Over 10,000 Vehicles for Faulty Airbag Inflators
Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) announces that it will voluntarily replace Takata passenger front airbag inflators of 10,461 vehicles of 2013  model of City, Jazz, and Pilot sold in the Philippines from 2012 to 2015 as part of Honda's precautionary global recall campaign concerning Takata front airbag inflators.

City
8,520
Jazz
 1,769
Pilot

The recall is the same as that which the Department of Trade and Industry shared last January 16 with one minor difference--the number of Honda Jazz units that were being recalled then only number at 1,259 units, a discrepancy of around 500 units. The campaign is Honda's proactive effort to continuously ensure safety of the owners in order to avoid any unfortunate circumstance in the future. The affected Takata airbag inflators might deploy with excessive internal pressure when activated. In such cases, the inflator casing might rupture, which could cause serious injury or death in the worst case to vehicle occupants. HCPI President and General Manager Noriyuki Takakura appeals to Honda customers to take action and have their vehicles checked right away. "Safety is always Honda’s top priority and we urge the affected customers to have their vehicles checked at any of Honda Car dealerships, as soon as possible." Below is the table of complete information of the vehicles which are included in the recall:

Replacement of parts for this voluntary recall is FREE OF CHARGE and will take about one hour in any of the 37 authorized Honda Car dealerships and three authorized service outlets nationwide. Customers can check if their Honda vehicle is affected through the recall webpage at hondaphil.com/services/vin-search. The website has a Chassis Number / Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) Check Tool to enable customers to validate if their vehicle is affected. The 17-digit Chassis Number or VIN can be found on the Certificate of Registration (CR).
