Under the hood of the Honda HR-V resides a 1.8-litre four-pot SOHC i-VTEC engine making 142 PS and 172 Nm. Both models get a CVT as standard. The Honda HR-V is one of the best crossovers to be available in the Philippines market. The car is loved for its attention to detail and the sportiness that it exudes from its aesthetic design. The car competes against the likes of Suzuki Vitara, Ford EcoSport, and the Nissan Juke.
It is priced around PHP 1.3 million to PHP 1.5 million, which makes it competitive against its peers. Plus, the fact that the new model might be getting Honda Sensing technology for the Philippines, makes it a great option to choose. This new inclusion was first talked about in November 2019 when a piece of news broke out about the same.
The new model is available in five different colour options - Phoenix Orange Pearl, Passion Red Pearl, Lunar Silver Metallic, Modern Steel Metallic, and Taffeta White.
Honda HR-V Interior
The cabin of the Honda HR-V is another great place to be in. The 3-spoke steering wheel has a lot of control buttons for the music system. There is a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system that has both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. This system even includes the entertainment box with six speakers.
As for comfort, there is automatic climate control with a touch panel. The seats are done in leather upholstery. Moreover, the driver’s seat has a manual adjustment feature as well. However, power window glass is offered for the driver only with one-touch up and down.

The Honda HR-V is stylishly built and very sharp and angular, just like how a compact crossover should be. The front end is extremely muscular with a high and large hood. There is a big-meshed air intake grille on the bumper, while the traditional horizontal dark chrome strip with the brand’s logo, lies above it. The LED headlamps are very attractive and are accompanied by DRLs. Even the fog lamps lower down on the top trim get the LED treatment.
The crossover rides on 17-inch wheels for all the four ends that are covered in 215-section tyres. Get to the rear and you will love the impressive design right there. There is a sharkfin antenna and a roof spoiler to include stylishness.

As for the mechanism at the heart, the Honda HR-V is offered in just one petrol engine for both the 1.8 E and RS Navi trims. The 1.8-litre i-VTEC engine is capable of producing a maximum power of 142 PS at 6,500 rpm, while the peak torque of 172 Nm comes at just 4,300 rpm.
The produced power is sent down to the front wheels via the Japanese company's patented Earth Dream CVT unit. The programmed FI technology ensures great fuelling on the engine with an instant response on the throttle pedal.

Even though the pricing is extremely competitive in the range, the Honda HR-V rarely compromises on the safety front. There are ventilated disc brakes for the front wheels and standard discs for the rear. The brakes are accompanied by ABS and electronic brakeforce distribution.
Apart from this, the feature list even includes vehicle stability control multi-view rear parking camera, hill start assist and vehicle immobiliser. Security alarm and child seat anchor lock (ISOFIX) are offered too.
