Hyundai PH CEO Shows Full Support for ‘#AhonPinay’
The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Complex in Taguig City recently inaugurated the Procter & Gamble-sponsored ‘Ariel #AhonPinay Electrical and Installation Maintenance’ training room, an effort that seeks to empower women through education and skills training. The President and CEO of Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI) Maria Fe Perez-Agudo graced the event and was its guest of honor. The event doubled as the graduation of the first batch of TESDA graduates under the Arial #AhonPinay program, of which Perez-Agudo was the Keynote Speaker.
As the very first female CEO of a local automotive company, Perez-Agudo is a strong advocate and thought leader for women empowerment in the country. In her speech, she congratulated the Procter & Gamble team that led the Ariel #AhonPinay campaign for their advocacy to eliminate boundaries in professional capabilities. She also extended her congratulations to TESDA for its role in promoting gender inclusiveness in the automotive industry, and expressed her continued support for the agency’s vision to overcome gender role stereotyping.
Addressing the graduates, she said, “You are a powerful statement that women are perfectly capable of finding fulfillment and of building a better life for themselves and for the people they love in jobs that many still consider as ‘for men only.’” She also expressed her desire to see a boost in numbers of skilled women professionals in the tech-voc sector.
Perez-Agudo’s participation in TESDA and Procter & Gamble’s double event represents Hyundai Philippines’ full and unwavering support for the national roadmap for innovation, of which the enhancement of skills and the addressing of inequality and gaps in education of the local workforce plays a vital role.
