Before Lamborghini enters its “hybridization phase,” the Italian luxury car brand is celebrating its glorious V12 era by releasing two one-off cars: the Invencible coupé and Auténtica roadster.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • What powers the Invencible coupé and Auténtica roadster?

Per Lamborghini, the Invencible coupé and Auténtica roadster are powered by a 6.5-liter engine mated to a seven-speed ISR gearbox.
  • How much power can the Invencible coupé and Auténtica roadster make?

According to the automaker, both the Invencible coupé and Auténtica roadster make 769 horsepower with 720Nm of torque.
  • Per the house of the Raging Bull, the Invencible and Auténtica highlight the marque’s DNA and represent the very peak of Lamborghini’s exclusive accent on personalization, by involving the customer from the very beginning to create models that are truly bespoke.

“The V12 engine is one of the pillars of our history and our marque’s success. As we head towards embracing a new era of hybridization at the heart of our Cor Tauri strategy, this is the Lamborghini way of celebrating the naturally aspirated V12 with two one-off vehicles that perfectly represent our concept of excellence in personalization,” said Lamborghini Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Stephan Winkelmann.

Both the coupé and the roadster are masterpieces made by the brand’s premiere bespoke design division,  Lamborghini Centro Stille, and were intended to showcase the pinnacle of automotive design using the V12 platform.

According to Lamborghini, the Invencible and the Auténtica pay tribute to masterpieces of the brand’s design: the Sesto Elemento, a homage to lightness and motorsport characterized by a large rear wing; the Reventón with its unique aeronautical style; and the Veneno, which takes the quest for aerodynamic perfection to an extreme.

Features shared by the two one-off automobiles include a carbon fiber monocoque (from the Aventador, produced in Sant’Agata Bolognese), front and rear lights with hexagonal elements, central triple exhaust with Inconel tips (made with a special high-performance steel alloy derived from the aerospace industry), hexagonal 3D-printed air vents, and a carbon fiber cockpit.

Meanwhile, design elements unique to the Invencible coupé are a Rosso Efesto bodywork, carbon fiber sills and door frames, Rosso Mars brake calipers, single-nut wheels with carbon fiber fairings, as well as prominent hexagonal tricolors found on the car’s classic scissor doors and leather-wrapped steering wheel.

Interior trims include Rosso Alala leather and Nero Cosmus Alcantara.

As for the Auténtica roadster, the Sant’Agata Bolognese-based carmaker gave it unique front splitters, a motorsport-derived rear wing, brake calipers, and other aerodynamic elements finished in Matt Black and Giallo Auge. The bodywork is finished in Grigio. Further, it gets two domes with integrated rollbars.

Its open-air interior boasts elegant embroidery in Giallo Taurus, with contrasting Nero Ade leather upholstery and two-tone Nero Cosmus and Grigio Octans Alcantara.

“We have created two one-off cars with their own unique character, inspired by track days and the high-octane circuit environment. They are designed by Lamborghini Centro Stile, exerting maximum creativity on the V12 platform. These one-off designs draw on our unique design DNA while once again elevating our design heritage to a new level,” stated Automobili Lamborghini Head of Design Mitja Borkert.

Both the Invencible and Auténtica are powered by a longitudinally mounted 12-cylinder 6.5-liter engine mated to a seven-speed ISR gearbox, four-wheel drive, and the Lamborghini Dynamic Steering system that controls all four wheels.

On paper, this setup makes 769 horsepower with 720Nm of almost instantaneous torque.
