Lamborghini Urus Review
Lamborghini Urus Overview
The Lamborghini Urus is one of the latest models from the Italian automobile maker and is also one of the most popular lately. In fact, the Urus turned out to be the best-selling Lamborghini model in 2019. Out of 8205 models, around 5000 were the Urus.
The Lamborghini Urus is a sculpted SUV with the heart of a super-sports car and is the first SSUV (Super Sports Utility Vehicle ) in the world. The engine under the hood of the SUV is twin-turbocharged and is in-line with any other Lamborghini cars with the sporty exhaust and amazing response on the throttle.
Lamborghini Urus Interior
The Lamborghini Urus is no less than a virtual cockpit for the driver inside the cabin. The driver gets all the controls stacked up in a very sophisticated fashion. The 3-spoke, flat-bottom steering wheel exudes the confidence of a sports car. The analog-digital instrument panel is very futuristic and offers a lot of information. The dashboard comes with a twin-display console, both of which offer a barrage of controls and information.
The centre console also gets a lot of functions, like the mode control, etc. The design of the cabin is designed to be a Lamborghini in all sense. You will find Alcantara leather everywhere and also the relatable hexagonal shape all around.
Lamborghini Urus Exterior
The Lamborghini Urus is of the Lamborghini Urus is unforgettable in many ways. It has the engineering of a sports car on the aerodynamics front and is bulky on the build. The front section is sculpted to its core with a big air intake grille. The LED headlamps are extremely sleek and have the underlining of the DRLs.
The same sense of styling is carried to the rear end too. There is a spoiler attached just above the LED taillights and not on the roof. Get lower down and you will love the muscular skid place on the bumper and two twin exhaust pipes. 21-inch wheels are standard, though the buyers can even opt for bigger 23-inch units.
Lamborghini Urus Ride & Handling
The Lamborghini Urus, without a doubt, is the best SUV you could buy in the premium range. The V8 engine is great to hear and works superfast with maximum power at 6,800 rpm. Despite being 2,200 kilograms on the kerb weight, it is still the quickest and fastest SUV with a 0-100 kmph sprint in 3.6 seconds before hitting a top speed of 306 kmph.
The car has the best power-to-weight ratio among SUVs and has several driving modes on offer, be it track or snow. The torque is primarily routed to the rear wheels for a sporty driving character, though the active torque vectoring and torque-on-demand features supply an adequate amount of torque as and when required.
Lamborghini Urus Engine & Fuel Consumption
Being the world’s first sports SUV, the Lamborghini Urus is known for its engine and performance. The sporty Italian car does not get the naturally-aspirated engine from the Huracan or the Aventador for a change. Instead, it gets a twin-turbo, 4.0-litre, V8 engine from Bentley Continental GT.
The engine is capable of thumping out a whopping power of 641 hp and a peak torque of 850 Nm. The produced power is transferred to all the wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission that also gets a shifter.
Lamborghini Urus Braking & Safety
The Lamborghini Urus is uncompromised on the safety front. All the wheels get carbon-ceramic disc brakes (440 mm front and 370 mm rear). ABS and electronic brakeforce distribution are standard.
As for the assistance features, the SUV also gets the Three Advanced Driver Assistance System package, which includes Urban Road, Highway, and Full ADAS. Besides just that, the driving modes will also impress the drivers. However, there is an EGO mode, which works on the suspension, steering, and traction based on the driver’s customisation.
Lamborghini Urus Verdict
Priced at around PHP 13 million, the Lamborghini Urus competes against the likes of the Land Rover Range Rover and the Bentley Bentayga. It has similar power numbers as that of the Jeep Grand Cherokee, though the better power-to-weight ratio makes it the faster and better in terms of the performance.
And needless to say, it translates the Italian automakers designing language of the sports cars well into an SUV body without compromising on the aerodynamics.
