Lamborghini Recalls Lamborghini Centenario for Wrong Gross Vehicle Weight Rating Label
Lamborghini is recalling 11 of the 40 Lamborghini Centenario it has made after it has been discovered that some units have a manufacturer certification label that lists an incorrect weight limit.
Due to the incorrect label, drivers of the Centenario may overload the vehicle, which increases the risk of suspension failure and, in turn, increases the risk of a crash.
Though Lamborghini did not reveal what the incorrect gross vehicle weight rating on the label is, the Italian carmaker did reveal that the correct figures are 4,519 lbs for the Centenario coupe and 4,630 lbs for the Centenario roadster.
According to Lamborghini, the error was discovered during an internal check concluded in April 2018 after a customer filed a complaint. The affected models are those produced between March 13, 2017 and October 27, 2017.
Lamborghini will reportedly notify all owners of affected vehicles and will instruct them to arrange for an appointment with an authorized Lamborghini dealer who will then install a corrected manufacturer certification label free of charge.
We don't know if there's a Lamborghini Centenario on our shores but we do know one thing though; the resale price of a model that retains the old--and incorrect--label has just gone up.
