LTO-7 Sets 30-Minute Per Transaction Policy
The Land Transportation Office in Central Visayas (LTO-7) has implemented a 30-minute timeline for every transaction to fast-track the delivery of services to the public.
Joel Maloloy-on, LTO-7 Operations chief, said they implemented the timeline to provide fast and efficient service to driving licenses and vehicle registration applicants in line with the Ease of Doing Business Act.
"We have implemented the timeline in all our frontline offices in Region 7 to fast track the processing of applications and to be able to accommodate all our clients within the day," Maloloy-on said.
With the improved and fast delivery of services, Maloloy-on said people would no longer need to negotiate with fixers.
"Since we now have a timeline for every transaction, there's no more reason for the public to avail of the very expensive assistance of fixers for the fast processing of their licenses and registrations," he said.
He said they have assigned some personnel to monitor whether transactions are being processed within 30 minutes.
"If ever a transaction has not been completed within 30 minutes, we have personnel who will check on what caused the delay and immediately address the problem," said Maloloy-on.
The LTO-7 also has routing slips for every transaction to determine whether a certain desk has finished the task within the prescribed processing time, he added.
"We are now very time-conscious. But, of course, there are also intervening events that cannot be avoided, such as slow internet connection," the LTO-7 officer said.
