Kia PH to bring in Sonet?

Kia Philippines will launch a new model new month, which, most likely, could be the Sonet.

In a Facebook post, the Korean automaker’s local arm shared a teaser photo of a vehicle that shows familiar-looking grille design in red body color.

“You'll fall in love with just one touch. Find out more in June,” the Ayala-led automotive distributor stated.

While Kia Philippines has yet to reveal the nameplate of the upcoming model, commenters over the post expressed firm belief that it would be the Sonet.

What is Kia Sonet?

Unveiled last December, the Kia Sonet is a compact sport utility vehicle that has strong similarities with the Seltos — a model that has been retailed in the Philippines for years already.

In India, the Kia Sonet wears a muscular look fitted with technologies that would fit the needs of young professionals.

Per Kia, the vehicle offers 10 driver-assistive features such as front collision avoidance assist, lead vehicle departure alert, and lane follow assist.

It also has comfort amenities like dual screen connected panel design, rear door sunshade curtain, and smartpure air purifier with virus and bacteria protection — among others.

In India, the Kia Sonet comes in gasoline and diesel powertrains mated to six-speed (manual or automatic) gearboxes or a seven-speed dual clutch transmission.
