CAMPI-TMA July 2026 YTD sales down by 10%

MANILA: Year-to-date sales of the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI) and the Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA) has yet to recover from the slowdown that happened during the first half of 2026.

Based on their joint report, the two groups collectively delivered 241,725 units to customers during the start of the year until the end of July this year—down by 10.2 percent compared to the 269,207-vehicle retail performance in the same period the previous year.

The commercial vehicle segment continues to hold more than 80 percent of total CAMPI-TMA year-to-date sales with 193,869 units—reflecting a 10-percent decrease versus the 215,440-unit sales output in January-July 2025.

Passenger car sales also went down by 11 percent, reaching only 47,856 units versus the 53,767 units sold during the same period last year.

However, despite the decline, last month served as CAMPI-TMA’s strongest monthly sales total so far this year. The group's 37,319-unit sales, combined with estimates from other automotive brands, brought total industry sales for the month to 42,880 units.

“With this continuous growth, the industry is riding on good momentum. We are hopeful that the positive trend will continue for the remainder of the year,” CAMPI President Jose Maria Atienza was quoted as saying.

xEV sales

Meanwhile, electrified vehicle sales (xEV) —which represents 16 percent of the two groups' combined sales—continue to show strong demand. Its collective sales reached 38,286 units—136 percent higher than the 16,195 units sold during the same period last year.

Leading CAMPI-TMA's xEV sales from January to July 2026 were hybrid electric vehicles, which accounted for 20,716 units followed by battery electric vehicles with 10,476 units delivered to buyers.

Although having smallest share among the three categories, plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) posted the biggest percentage growth, with 7,094 units sold—showing a 2,363-percent increase from the same period last year.

Top distributors as of July 2026

On top of the CAMPI-TMA's sales leaderboard as of last month was Toyota Motor Philippines, which cornered a 49.11-percent market share after selling 118,706 units to customers.

Taking the second spot was Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation, with 42,592 units sold and a 17.62-percent market share.

Suzuki Philippines Inc. placed third with a 4.53-percent market share, handing over 10,951 units to clients, while Ford and Nissan's local arms kept fourth and fifth places after selling 8,587 and 7,899 units, respectively, during the seven-month period.

Notably, VinFast Philippines entered the Top 10 for the first time since becoming a CAMPI member early last year—selling 3,803 units in January-July 2026. This allowed them to overtake Kia distributor KP Motors Corporation, which fell two places after selling 3,772 vehicles.

Hyundai Motor Philippines moved up from 10th to ninth place after selling 3,860 units.
