PH-spec Ford Everest, Ranger get major revamp

MANILA: Ford Philippines has updated the Everest and Ranger lineup in the country.

Considered as two of the Blue Oval marque’s highly-popular models locally, the mid-size sport utility vehicle (SUV) and pickup truck updated powertrain options, adjusted the lineup, updated the exterior and cabin design.

Here’s what to find in the revamped Ford Ranger and Everest roster in the Philippines.

Ranger

Spearheading the new Ford Ranger lineup is the Wildtrak X.

Aside from that, the new Ranger dropped the 2.0-liter bi-turbo engine for a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 mill slapped into the Wildtrak 4x4 and the Wildtrak X 4x4 variations. This can dish out:

Meanwhile, the updated Ford Ranger Raptor kept the 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 gasoline EcoBoost engine. This powertrain can deliver:

All Ford Ranger trims—Raptor included—kept the 10-speed automatic transmission.

The Ford Ranger Raptor carried over most of the previous versions’ mechanical bits, but the new Ranger Wildtrak X now wears Bilstein shock absorbers for its double wishbone front and leaf spring rear suspension systems.

All of them are fitted with front and rear disc brakes. 

The Wildtrak X and Wildtrak come with rear-locking differentials unlike the the Ford Ranger Raptor that has front- and rear-locking differentials, alongside live-valve internal-bypass shock absorbers, and selectable exhaust modes.

Outside, the new Ford Ranger gets LED lighting fixtures, adaptive front lighting, zone lighting, power-folding/adjustable side mirrors, a bedliner, the Wildtrak Sport Hoop, roof rails, an easy-lift tailgate, and metal underbody protection.

A “Ranger” hood typography and black composite off-road-rated side steps were seen placed exclusively to the Wildtrak X option.

Both the Ford Ranger Wildtrak X and Ranger Raptor rides on 17-inch alloy wheels while the Wildtrak gets 18-inch wheels. 

On paper, the updated Ranger and Ranger Raptor measures:

Further, the new Ford Ranger and Ranger Raptor sport a family cabin layout. Among those that are present in the two variations are the 12-inch portrait Sync4A touchscreen central display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Wildtrak X and Ranger Raptor is a 10-speaker Bang & Olufsen setup. 

The Wildtrak X and Ranger Raptor’s digital instrument cluster measures 12.4 inches but the Wildtrak has an offers an eight-inch screen in front of the driver.

Other interior amenities available to the updated Ford Ranger include:

• Dial-type 4x4 mode selector
• Wireless smartphone charging pad
• Ambient lighting
• Smart keyless entry
• Electronic parking brake

In terms of safety, the updated Ford Ranger is outfitted with a myriad of advanced driver-assist systems:

• Adaptive cruise control
• Automatic high beams
• Adjustable speed limiter
• Autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian detection
• Forward collision warning
• Evasive steer assist
• Lane departure warning/lane keeping aid
• Blind-spot information/cross-traffic alert and braking

With Absolute Black, Arctic White, Meteor Grey, and Ignite Orange as its available body colors, the updated Ford Ranger can be had at the following prices:

Everest

On the other hand, the updated Ford Everest is being offered in four variants with two diesel-powered engine options. They are:

Just like the Ranger, all Ford Everest options feature a 10-speed automatic transmission—with the rear-locking different solely available in the Everest Platinum 4x4.

The range-topping variant gets 21-inch alloy wheels, LED lighting, zone lighting, rain-sensing wipers, power-folding/adjustable side mirrors with heating, a power tailgate, a panoramic moonroof, and roof rails. 

Meanwhile, this SUV tapes in at:

For the interior, the spruced-up Ford Everest largely shared that the same features as the updated Ranger—with the major difference being the electronically folding third row and ventilated front seats.
