Maxus T60 Overview
In 2020, Maxus established its presence in the Philippines’ highly-competitive midsize pickup truck market with the introduction of the T60. This 5-seater pickup truck is designed to serve as either a value-packed and reliable workhorse, a practical city commuter, or both, targeting business owners, fleet operators, and budget-conscious professionals. Locally, the Maxus T60 comes in three trims - Pro 4x2 MT, which is priced at ₱998,000, Pro 4x2 AT, which is priced at ₱1.078 million, and Elite 4x4 AT, which is priced at ₱1.328 million.

Maxus T60 Interior
Inside, the Maxus T60 offers just the right balance of comfort and functionality. Its cabin is predominantly made of hard plastics, though the inclusion of some soft-touch panels is a welcome touch at this price point. While not the plushest in its segment, its leather seats are still supportive and comfortable enough on long drives. But, the highlight of its cabin is its impressive spaciousness, effectively accommodating five passengers.
Up front, the driver gets an analogue instrument panel with a small multi-information display in the middle, a multi-control steering wheel, and a conventional-looking gear lever. At the center of its dashboard is a digital infotainment display (Pro trims: 7-inch, Elite trim: 10-inch) that has Apple CarPlay and Bluetooth connectivity, among others. The Elite trim features a 6-speaker sound system, while the Pro trims get the 4-speaker counterpart. For added convenience, its cabin also comes with multiple cupholders at the front, jug holders on each door, and rear air-conditioning vents.

Maxus T60 Exterior
The Maxus T60 features a subtle, rugged truck design that is loud and quiet at the same time. It isn’t as aggressive-looking as some of the other offerings in its segment, but it still carries itself well and has a noticeable presence. Its robust front end is enhanced by an imposing-looking grille with vertical slats finished in chrome. The Elite 4x4 trim features angular LED headlamps with curved DRLs, while the Pro trims only get a halogen headlamp. For more visibility, this truck also comes with fog lights at the front.
Meanwhile, it displays the conventional pickup truck silhouette from the side, accentuated by prominent lines and muscular fenders. The T60 runs on robust-looking 17-inch wheels wrapped in all-terrain tyres. It also comes with stepboards for easier ingress and egress.
At the back, its tailgate, which is defined by bulged rectangular lines, proudly displays the Maxus badge. All trims come with LED tail lights and another pair of fog lights. Open up the tailgate, and you get a factory bed liner and over 1,000 liters of cargo space. Underneath, it comes with a rear stepper and reflectors housed in huge chrome panels. Meanwhile, on top, it also gets roof rails, which offer more storage for you and your family.
All trims of the Maxus T60 are 5,365 mm in length, 2,145 mm in width, and 1,809 mm in height. This midsize pickup truck also comes with a 3,155-mm wheelbase and a 215-mm ground clearance, which enhances its capability both on- and off-road.
-
Maxus T60 Ride & Handling
In terms of suspension, the Maxus T60 comes with a Double Wishbone at the front and a Leaf Spring at the rear. Admittedly, it doesn’t deliver the plushest ride in its segment, especially on city roads with large bumps and deep potholes. However, it remains comfortable enough on long, open roads such as highways while still being ready to take on different kinds of terrain.
-
Maxus T60 Engine & Fuel Consumption
The Maxus T60 is powered by a 2.8L 4-cylinder, 16-valve, turbocharged diesel engine that has a maximum power output of 148 hp and a maximum torque output of 360 Nm. Its engine is paired with either a 6-speed manual transmission gearbox or 6-speed automatic transmission. The Elite trim features a 4x4 (four-wheel) drivetrain, while the Pro trims utilize a 4x2 (two-wheel) drivetrain.
While the T60 may not be the most powerful in its segment, it is still capable enough to handle steep inclines and perform quick overtakes without feeling underpowered. It packs quite a nice punch on the highway while remaining fairly efficient in the city. Its NVH suppression system is also quite adequate for its price point.
-
Maxus T60 Braking & Safety
The Maxus T60 model line is equipped with front and rear disc brakes. Its braking setup is supported by an anti-lock braking system with electronic brakeforce distribution and a vehicle stability control system. This pickup truck also comes with a rear camera, rear parking sensors, front and side impact beams, driver and front passenger airbags, ISOFIX child anchors, and a tyre pressure monitor, among others.
-
Maxus T60 Verdict
In my opinion, the Maxus T60 remains a practical option for budget-conscious buyers seeking an affordable midsize pickup truck capable of hauling large amounts of cargo while remaining fairly cost-effective to run on a daily basis.
