MIAS 2017: Subaru PH launches all-new Impreza

Motor Image Pilipinas has launched the all-new Subaru Impreza at the 2017 Manila International Auto Show, just over two months after its regional launch in Singapore last January. As the fifth-generation Impreza, the new model is the first to utilize the new Subaru Global Platform, which "will be the architecture for all future Subaru models." The all-new Subaru Impreza also happens to carry the distinction of being the 2016-2017 Japan Car of the Year. The Impreza's design is an evolution of its predecessor, with its wide and low stance and extended fender flares framing the hexagonal grille and the iconic C-shaped headlights. The interior combines both sporty and sophisticated elements, from the detailed stitching on the instrument panels to the eight-inch touch-screen infotainment system. On top of the improvements to its structural rigidity and suspension system, the all-new Impreza's center of gravity is also 5 mm lower than in the outgoing model, resulting in sharper, more responsive steering "which enhances the vehicle'sactive safety capabilities." The all-new Subaru Impreza has a 2.0-liter horizontally-opposed direct injection, naturally-aspirated engine which produces 154 hp and can now be ordered through Subaru dealerships across the country for P1.388 million.
