MIAS 2023: BYD presents EV lineup

BYD has made its presence felt at the 2023 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) by presenting its three-car electric vehicle (EV) lineup.

The models on display at BYD’s booth are the Dolphin, Han EV, and Tang EV.

The BYD Dolphin five-seater hatchback has a 44.9 kilowatt-hour (kWh) battery that can be charged in just 30 minutes using a direct current (DC) fast charger or six to seven hours when charged using an alternating current (AC) charger.

Its all-electric powertrain allows the BYD Dolphin to reach a top speed of 130 kilometers per hour (kph) and accelerate from zero to 50 kph in 3.9 seconds. Its estimated range is about 400 kilometers (km) on a single charge.

Meanwhile, the BYD Han EV midsize luxury sedan has a 76.9 kWh battery that can be charged in as fast as 39 minutes via a DC fast charger or from eight to nine hours using an AC charger.

The powertrain setup of the electric BYD Han EV has a peak speed of 185 kph and a zero to 100 kph acceleration of 3.9 seconds. Estimated range is approximately 500km.

Lastly, the BYD Tang EV seven-seater sport utility vehicle has an 82.8 kWh battery that goes full in 40 minutes when plugged into a DC fast charger or in eight to nine hours using an AC charger.

Performance-wise, the BYD Tang EV reaches a top speed of 180 kph and can zoom from a standstill to 100 kph in only 4.6 seconds. Like the aforementioned Han EV, the Tang EV has an estimated range of 500km.

The abovementioned models are priced at P1.688 million, P3.688 million, and P3.698 million respectively.
