Mitsubishi L300, Strada lead MMPC’s January sales performance

The country’s distributor for Japanese automotive marque Mitsubishi announced that their L300 and Strada ensured their heavy barrage for 2021.

Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) said that the two utilitarian vehicles closed the first month of 2021 enjoying a significant sales increase compared to the previous month.

The L300 had a 59 percent growth after selling 764 units last month, topping December 2020’s sales by 286 units. They have attributed the strong sales rally to the Retro promo that brought the L300’s retail price down to P698,000 (cab and chassis variant). The said promo has been extended up to end of this month, MMPC announced.

Back in July last year, MMPC bared plans of exporting the Mitsubishi L300 to neighboring ASEAN countries. The announcement was made following the roll out the 200,000^th L300 from its production line in Laguna.

The Strada, on the other hand, rolled out 428 units to end January, which reflects a 30 percent improvement (up by 101 units) versus December last year’s sales figures. The said nameplate has been a constant sales driver for the brand even during 2020, when sales were low.

The current-generation Strada was revealed back in 2019. Showcasing its capabilities was Dakar Rally champion Hiroshi Masuoka.

MMPC President and CEO Mutsuhiro Oshikiri expressed pride over the continuous rise in sales.

“Every month displays a new challenge for us but we are grateful to consistently receive an overwhelming support from the market and admirable passion from our dealer partners. We will continue to strive to give the market enticing promos to assist them in owning their desired Mitsubishi vehicle”, he said.
