Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello is world’s first bike to feature 'adaptive aerodynamics'

Moto Guzzi has presented the V100 Mandello, the world’s first motorcycle to feature adaptive aerodynamics, in the recently held Esposizione Internazionale Ciclo Motociclo e Accessori (EICMA) in Milan.

According to Moto Guzzi, the technology behind the V100 Mandello’s adaptive aerodynamics is designed to give the rider better comfort when using the motorbike. The V100 Mandello is equipped with deflectors on the side of its 17.5-liter fuel tank, that automatically adjusts depending on the speed and the Riding Mode selected.

This ensures better comfort and protection from the wind as the fully raised aerodynamic appendages reduce the pressure from the air to the rider by 22 percent, bringing the V100 Mandello closer to the protection from the air granted by the more voluminous and less sporty tourers.

The Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello boasts first-rate electronic equipment that includes the Ride by Wire electronic accelerator. It is accompanied by four Riding Modes: Travel, Sport, Rain, and Road.

Each of the aforementioned riding modes manages three different engine maps, four levels of traction control, three levels of engine brake, and calibration of the Öhlins Smart EC 2.0 semi-active suspension (in the version that includes them as standard).

The Öhlins Smart EC 2.0 semi-active suspension automatically adapts the hydraulics to the type of driving and the asphalt conditions to give the rider the best riding condition in any situation.

Pricing and availability of the V100 Mandello are yet to be announced.
