Since VW confirmed the arrival of the T-Cross to the Philippine market, the German automaker’s latest offering has had many Filipino car enthusiasts excited.
Yesterday, May 26, saw the official launch of the Volkswagen T-Cross. The Philippine-spec subcompact SUV is outfitted with a four-cylinder, in-line, multi-point fuel injection gasoline engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission with Blue Motion.
The gasoline-powered mill gives the T-Cross a maximum power output of 111hp and 145Nm of torque.
At the front, the Volkswagen T-Cross sports MacPhersons while a semi-independent composite torsion beam supports the vehicle at the rear. These are paired with disc brakes front and back.
Volkswagen’s subcompact SUV is currently offered in two variants: S and SE. Both trims are nearly identical with slight variations in safety features as well as exterior and interior amenities. VW is offering an introductory price for the T-Cross (until June 30, 2021) that lets hopeful owners enjoy P30,000 off from its original price.
The S variant costs P1,098,000 (P1,068,000 with the discount) and lets you choose between two paint options. On the other hand, the SE variant comes with a sticker price of P1,198,000 (P1,168,000 with the discount) and gives you five paint options.

Let’s start with the T-Cross poster boy, the Tribu. Vibrant, energetic, and lively, Tribu exemplifies the nature and characteristics that define the T-Cross.
It’s not surprising that Volkswagen chose Tribu as the color to represent the T-Cross as it makes the subcompact SUV look exciting and fun to drive. It also makes the T-Cross easy to spot in the mall parking lot.
Syringa Violet
Next, is an odd one. We’re not used to seeing purple, especially on subcompact SUVs. And while it looks cool on Roman Pearce’s purple Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GTS in 2 Fast 2 Furious, we’re not sure it fits the T-Cross.
Nevertheless, it’s a pop of color you don’t usually see on the streets. It should make your ride undeniably unique.
Romance Red
This paint option gives the T-Cross a bold and strong character. Red blends well with the black trims on the subcompact SUV’s front and rear bumpers as well as its wheel arches, emphasizing the chrome accents on the front fascia.
You’re sure to turn heads when you drive by with the T-Cross in Romance Red.
Polar White
Clean and immaculate, Polar White makes the VW T-Cross look a little tame and tempered. If you plan to make your T-Cross a daily driver or a family carrier, white can be a good choice.
It does not attract too much attention but still makes your ride noticeable enough when on the road. White vehicles are the ones least associated with accidents, making it the safest color to choose if you are considering driving VW’s subcompact SUV with your family.
Chinchilla Gray
This paint is the darkest color in the T-Cross palette. Chinchilla Gray gives the subcompact SUV an air of reliability.
Not only is the T-Cross backed by dependable German engineering and technology, but VW Philippines is offering their latest SUV with one year of free 24/7 emergency roadside assistance (ERA) and a three-year/100,000-km (whichever comes first) warranty.
