Tokyo 2017: Subaru Reveals Viziv Performance Concept
For the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show, Subaru revealed its Subaru Viziv Performance Concept which drew on the brand's iconic models, "symbolizing superior Subaru driving performance and the Symmetrical AWD layout powered by a boxer engine honed over more than five decades of development."
According to Subaru, the models that the Viziv Performance Concept drew on are the Legacy, which defined Subaru as a drivers' car, the Impreza, which took the World Rally Championship by storm, and the WRX, which still dominates motor racing around the world.
The Viziv Performance Concept is the first in the Viziv series of concept models to have a sedan body, giving us a look at what Subaru's next-generation sports sedan may look like.
The front has a three-dimensional front grille that's flanked by Subaru's classic hawkeye headlights while the muscular front and rear fenders hint at Subaru's Symmetrical AWD system. The Subaru Viziv Performance Concept's driving performance is highlighted by a rigid, forward-thrusting body with a low center of gravity the use of carbon fiber parts in the bumpers, fenders, and roof, and the glimpse of the exhaust in the rear bumper.
