Yamaha Motor Philippines, Inc. (YMPH) recently joined the two-day Philippine Motorcycle Tourism ride to support the government's effort in pushing Filipinos to visit scenic locations in the country.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • What motorcycles did the representatives from Yamaha Motor Philippines use in the tourism ride?

YMPH participants used the #findurtrip editions of the Mio Aerox, Mio Gravis, and Mio Gear, along with the MT09.
  • Where did the riders go in the two-day event?

The participants visited Pugpog Biker’s Highlands, GK Enchanted Farm, Bustos Dam Eco Park, Sta. Rita Ecopark, Lubao Bamboo Hub and Eco Park, Mount Samat National Shrine, San Guillermo Church, and Barasoain Church in Malolos.
  • The Japanese motorcycle brand’s local distributor said in a statement that its participation in the activity — done in partnership with Tourism Promotions Board (TPB), Department of Tourism (DOT)-Region 3, and Breakfast Ride Community (BRC) — was in line with its #findurtrip campaign.

Led by TPB Chief Operating Officer Maria Anthonette Velasco-Allones, the riders visited historic, cultural, and culinary destinations as well as ecotourism sites such as Pugpog Biker’s Highlands, GK Enchanted Farm, Bustos Dam Eco Park, Sta. Rita Ecopark, Lubao Bamboo Hub and Eco Park, Mount Samat National Shrine, San Guillermo Church, and Barasoain Church in Malolos.

The YMPH representatives in the event were Marketing Assistant Section Manager Toni Boi Acuesta, Yamaha Riding Academy chief instructor Neil Hindang, Customer Relations Supervisor Hanzel Leyva, and YMPH Motorsports and Safety Relations staff Abi Limbo. The four used the #findurtrip editions of the Mio Aerox, Mio Gravis, and Mio Gear, along with the MT09.

Aside from YMPH, various motorcycle distributors, clubs, and associations also participated in the event.

In an interview, Acuesta shared that the company joined the activity to express its support to the tourism department’s thrust “in reviving the interest on the nation’s most beautiful wonders.”

“The pandemic and lockdowns hit these places hard, and we wanted to be part of bringing back life to these areas by showing our fellow Filipinos that these places are ready to welcome them once again,” he told Carmudi Philippines.

Further, Acuesta said that the event helped them enjoy the exhilarating experience of riding a motorcycle — especially in a group — while going to various scenic spots in the country.

“There are so many places to go and destinations to discover. I hope riders who haven’t had the chance to go out and ride again will be able to do so soon and enjoy every second of it. We must also be responsible in cultivating these tourist spots because this is the signature of culture — one we can share with each other and to the rest of the world.”
