Yamaha to showcase FG-01 EV at 2023 International Robot Exhibition

According to Yamaha, it will showcase different SCARA robots, robot vision cameras, single-axis robots, as well as pick and place robots, at the forthcoming show.Per the Japanese motorcycle company, FG-01 EV (photo shown above) is an “autonomous automated transportation machine that can travel in outdoor environments with wind and rain, as well as slopes and steps.”
Yamaha’s FG-01 EV is capable of autonomous driving, which the two-wheeler firm said will contribute to solving issues such as labor shortages and ensuring safety.
Themed “Transportation,” Yamaha’s brand booth at the forthcoming 2023 International Robot Exhibition will also feature new styles in next-generation transportation that connect linear conveyor modules, and small Automated Guided Vehicles (AGV) for both indoor and outdoor use.
Highlighting the said technologies is the Yamaha Total Solution Line Demonstration Machine, a next-generation transport platform that significantly increases line productivity through the combination of various robots.
Connected to it are different Selective Compliance Assembly Robot Arm (SCARA) components — such as the YK-XEC Series SCARA Robot Clean Type — as well as robot vision cameras, single-axis robots, as well as pick and place robots.
Yamaha will also display another automated transport machine suited for operation in harsh environments. Dubbed the COW-el automated transport machine, it is said to be available in two models: AGV and AMR.
The COW-el, which can be adapted to a wide range of environments depending on the combination, is expected to be used in a variety of scenarios and will not be limited to factory use.
Other robotic technologies to be expected from Yamaha’s 2023 International Robot Exhibition booth include surface mounters, seven-axis collaborative robots, as well as other centralized indoor and outdoor transport machines.
The 2023 International Robot Exhibition will run from November 29 to December 2 and will take place at the Tokyo Big Sight, the same venue for the 2023 Japan Mobility Show.
