The Aito M9 utilizes a suspension combination of a four ball joint double wishbone independent suspension at the front and a multi-link trapezoidal arm independent suspension at the rear. Both suspensions have air springs and CDCs. This SUV rides smoothly like a cloud thanks to this suspension system. It has great absorption of road bumps and potholes, a relatively stable handling, and nimble maneuvering. However, there is a tendency for its maneuvering to be too light or soft, causing everyone on board to feel noticeable body rolls inside the cabin when hitting turns or corners.

The Aito M9 lineup offers two powertrain options: electric vehicle (EV) and range-extended electric vehicle (REEV). Both powertrains utilize an asynchronous motor at the front and a permanent magnet synchronous motor at the rear.  

The EV variants produce a maximum power output of 390 kW and a maximum torque of 673 Nm. These variants are equipped with a ternary lithium battery that has a capacity of 100 kWh and a pure electric driving range (CLTC) of 630 kms. Its battery has a direct current (DC) charging time of 30% to 80% in just 15 minutes and an alternating current (AC) charging time of 20% to 90% in 11.75 hours.

Meanwhile, the REEV variants produce a maximum power output of 365 kW and a maximum torque of 675 Nm. Since it is an range-extended electric vehicle, its powertrain also utilizes a 1.5T engine that has a maximum power of 110 kW and a maximum torque of 205 Nm. These variants are equipped with a ternary lithium battery that has a capacity of 40 kWh and a pure electric driving range (CLTC) of 225 kms. Its battery has a direct current (DC) charging time of 30% to 80% in just 30 minutes and an alternating current (AC) charging time of 20% to 90% in 6 hours.

All four variants run on all-wheel drivetrain. Due to its powertrain’s impressive power delivery, the Aito M9 runs effortlessly on highways. It can overtake and drive at high speeds with ease. And, since it has a pretty decent fuel economy, it would also be a practical daily vehicle in the city. Additionally, its top-notch NVH suppression system ensures that everyone on board is immune from annoying engine and external noises. 

Ride safety is one of the main strengths of the Aito M9. It is equipped with intelligent driver assistance systems such as 360-degree surround view cameras, transparent chassis, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, rear cross traffic alert, blind spot detection, adaptive cruise control, automatic and rear emergency braking, lane keeping assist, and other advanced assistance features. This SUV utilizes a “HUAWEI DATS Comfort Braking” system.
