BMW X6

Similar to other newer-gen BMW vehicles, the X6 also has a luxurious cabin that can offer you and your passengers top-notch comfort and class-leading accessibility and entertainment. Its well-padded sport seats are made with BMW’s ‘Sensafin’, a high-quality artificial leather upholstery that blends comfort with class. Its cabin is predominantly soft-touch materials and carbon fibre finishes. 

Exclusive to the driver is an M-exclusive leather steering wheel that has a black Walknappa leather upholstery and multifunction buttons as well as BMW’s Live Cockpit Plus, which offers a hi-tech instrument panel for precise monitoring of current driving conditions. Meanwhile, all passengers can enjoy a premium-looking widescreen display that offers class-leading entertainment, including a smartphone integration feature. This widescreen display is linked to a Harman Kardon surround sound system. 

Although the X6 is a sports activity vehicle, it certainly did not sacrifice quality ergonomics and the overall wellbeing of its passengers for better performance and an exhilarating driving experience. However, its rear space could still be improved since tall and bigger passengers will struggle with the low headroom and minimal leg room. 

From the outside, the BMW X6 looks like a taller and bulkier 5 series. Its facial features look very similar to the latter’s. At the front, it flaunts BMW’s eye-catching kidney grille with an ‘Iconic Glow’ lighting feature, showcasing a dominant facade that is unique to BMW vehicles. It is also given LED headlights. On the sides, its curves blend well with its stylish metallic paint. And, to give this SUV a more assertive stance, it comes with a set of 21-inch BMW individual light-alloy wheels. 

Meanwhile, at the back, it is given a pair of 3D LED rear lights, double-sided black tailpipes that follow a double-flow design, and an M carbon spoiler, all of which add to the sportiness of the SUV on the road. The BMW X6 xDrive30d M Sport is 4,960 mm in length, 2,004 mm in width, 1,700 mm in height, and 2,975 mm in wheelbase.

Similar to other BMW vehicles, the X6 utilizes the brand’s ‘Adaptive M Suspension’ system. This suspension gives this SUV adaptability on the road, able to absorb bumps and uneven pavements. It has responsive maneuvering and firm handling. Hence, you’ll be able to turn or hit corners with ease. However, some might find this car’s handling too firm for their standards. Overall, you’ll be able to bring this comfortably with your family and friends in the city. 

The BMW X6 is powered by the brand’s 3L, 6-cylinder TwinPower Turbo diesel engine that produces a maximum power output of 282 hp and a maximum torque of 650 Nm. It runs on 8-speed automatic transmission with steptronic sport. 

Even though it is not the strongest nor the fastest in its segment, this sports activity vehicle offers a great driving experience overall. It runs smoothly both on city roads and highways since its engine is well-tuned to its body. It is relatively quiet inside the cabin, but if needed, you can still hear the roar of its TwinPower Turbo engine. However, if you worry about potential high fuel consumption and costs, then you might have to skip on this one.

Like its siblings, the BMW X6 is also equipped with a handful of safety features. It is equipped with multiple airbags, dynamic stability control, dynamic traction control, cornering brake control, hill descent control, side impact and active protection, automatic locking feature, ISOFIX child seat mounting, crash sensor, a tyre pressure monitoring system, and a warning triangle with first-aid kit. Furthermore, it utilizes BMW’s M sport brakes that are also secured by an anti-lock braking system. 

Honestly, considering its price and smaller size than most luxury SUVs, the BMW X6 will probably attract a niche-based audience within the Philippine market. It is certainly not for everyone and is inaccessible to many. But, at the end of the day, this car can definitely deliver an enjoyable driving experience for everyone on board.
