Inside, the Deepal S05 boasts a luxurious cabin finished in a classy orange-and-black colour scheme. Up front, the driver has access to a high-tech cockpit, consisting of a 50-inch projection heads-up display, a two-tone leather-wrapped steering wheel with multiple controls, and an intelligent voice interaction system. Owners of the BEV variant also get a driver fatigue monitoring system. 

Meanwhile, all passengers can enjoy a 15.4-inch central control screen that offers 2.5K resolution and has wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as internet-supported services, among others. For the BEV variant, the infotainment system is paired with a 14-speaker audio system with an amplifier, whereas the REEV variant gets the 8-speaker version. That said, most of the interior functions are accessed through the central control screen. On the plus side, its interface is smooth and responsive. For added convenience, both variants come with a wireless charger.

In terms of comfort and practicality, the front row is a nice place to be in, while the rear provides three adult passengers with ample headroom and legroom. This electrified crossover SUV comes with a respectable luggage area at the back. Aside from that, its leather seats are comfortable and ergonomic. The driver and front passenger can also benefit from ventilated seats. That said, the S05’s cabin is well-rounded, offering an impressive mix of comfort, modern functionality, and everyday practicality wherever it goes.

The Deepal S05 sports a smart EV design, defined by sleek proportions and hypermodern elements. At the front, it features wing-shaped LED automatic headlamps with an adaptive high beam assist feature, along with a rectangular pair of fog lamps, providing enhanced visibility and illumination on the road. The Deepal logo is proudly displayed on its smooth fascia.

From the side, this SUV’s profile looks aerodynamic and elegant at the same time, highlighted by its 20-inch aero wheels wrapped in continental tyres, as well as frameless doors with hidden electronic handles. Its blacked-out window trims, side mirrors, and side skirts also add a sporty touch to its hypermodern silhouette. 

Meanwhile, at the rear, it features a hypermodern-looking light bar that connects the SUV’s wing-shaped LED tail lights. The S05 is equipped with an electric tailgate with a memory function for more convenient loading and unloading of cargo. The exterior is finished off with a rear spoiler and a blacked-out rear bumper.

In terms of dimensions, the Deepal S05 model line measures 4,620 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width, and 1,600 mm in height. This electrified crossover SUV also has a 2,880-mm wheelbase.

The Deepal S05 model line is equipped with an independent suspension combination of a MacPherson Strut at the front and a Multi-Link at the rear. Thanks to this suspension setup, you’ll be able to confidently hit sharp turns and corners in this crossover SUV. Meanwhile, in the city, it absorbs smaller bumps and other minor road imperfections quite well. 

However, since its suspension setup is on the firmer side of things, larger humps and deep potholes are quite noticeable from inside the cabin. Nevertheless, the Deepal S05 can still offer a pleasant and comfortable riding experience for all occupants, both in the city and on the highway.

The Deepal S05 model line offers two powertrain options. First, the range-extended electric (REEV)/hybrid variant is powered by a combination of an electric motor, producing 215 PS of maximum power and 320 Nm of maximum torque, and a 1.5L engine, which mainly acts as a generator. Feeding its electric motor is a 27.28-kWh battery that offers a 170-km NEDC pure electric range. Combined, its hybrid powertrain offers an outstanding comprehensive range of up to 1,234 kilometers.

On the other hand, the battery electric variant (BEV) runs on a single electric motor, generating 234 PS and the same torque output as the REEV variant. Its motor is powered by a 56.12-kWh battery that offers a 458-km NEDC driving range and supports a fast charging time of 30% to 80% in just 15 minutes. Both trims utilize a rear-wheel drivetrain. 

Whichever powertrain you choose, this crossover SUV offers lively yet composed performance at highway speeds and maintains its refinement, even in congested city traffic. Both variants are well suited to urban driving, although the REEV trim is the more practical choice for frequent long-distance travel.

The Deepal S05 model line features a comprehensive ADAS suite that consists of forward and rear collision warning, integrated adaptive cruise control, reversing lateral warning and emergency braking, traffic jam assist, automatic emergency braking, emergency lane keeping, full-speed adaptive cruise control, and blind spot detection, among others. 

Aside from that, this electrified crossover SUV also comes with a 360-degree camera and front and rear parking radar warning, while its brakes are supported by an anti-lock braking system with electronic brakeforce distribution, a vehicle stability system, traction control, a brake assist, rollover prevention, as well as hill-start assist and hill-descent control systems.
