Ford Mustang Mach-E

Inside, the Ford Mustang Mach-E features a minimalist-looking cabin design that offers a good balance of practicality and sportiness. Upfront, you are greeted by a 15.5-inch Sync 4A Infotainment capacitive touchscreen with enhanced voice recognition. This comes with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and is connected to a 10-speaker Premium Bang and Olufsen sound system, which delivers world-class acoustics and bass around the vehicle. Unfortunately, its dashboard doesn’t have any physical buttons or knobs since the car’s features are already integrated into the infotainment display. 

Drivers have access to a high-tech cockpit that comes with a low profile 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster and a synthetic leather steering wheel. In terms of practicality and functionality, this EV comes with a wireless charger, great cargo space, and an abundance of compartments all around. 

Aside from these, there are loads of room both in the first and second rows. However, taller passengers might find seating at the back a bit of a struggle because of its limited rear headroom (due to the crossover’s sloping rear roofline). Its perforated ActiveX seats, though not the plushiest and most well-padded out there, provide decent support and ergonomics for all passengers. Younger-generation passengers will definitely like its fixed glass roof, which allows for great natural lighting and an aesthetic experience overall.

From the outside, the Mustang Mach-E exudes a mix of elegance and sportiness courtesy of some features that resemble its pony car counterpart. Upfront, it has a bold-looking facade illuminated by LED projector headlights with a signature lighting. Underneath, are active grille shutters that add more depth to its persona. 

Moreover, it features a two-toned bulky crossover silhouette, which tells you that it is capable on the road. LED puddle lamps with a Mustang pony logo projection are also integrated into its sides–setting you aside from other vehicles on the road. Additionally, its E-latch door handles also give it a sleek, hypermodern vibe. It runs on a robust set of 19-inch bright machine-face aluminum alloy wheels. 

Meanwhile, its Mustang DNA is very evident in its rear. Its tail lights with a tri-bar sequential LED arrangement looks like it came straight from the current generation of its muscle car counterpart. For easier loading and unloading of cargo, it is equipped with a hands-free liftgate.

In terms of dimensions, the Ford Mustang Mach-E measures 4,713 mm in length, 1,881 mm in width, and 1,627 mm in height. It also has a 2,984 mm wheelbase.

The Ford Mustang Mach-E comes with a MacPherson Strut at the front and a Multi-Link independent suspension at the rear. Thanks to this suspension setup, you’ll be able to confidently hit sharp twisties or winding roads even at high speeds, concealing the fact that this crossover has a pretty bulky build. It is pretty nimble to maneuver through traffic and effectively absorbs bumps and other road imperfections. That said, all passengers can enjoy a comfortable and dynamic ride with this crossover.

The Ford Mustang Mach-E runs on dual permanent magnet synchronous motors that generate a maximum power output of 394 PS and a maximum torque of 676 Nm. Its motors are powered by an 88kWh Lithium-Ion Nickel Cobalt Manganese battery pack that delivers a WLTP range of up to 550 km. Its electric powertrain is mated to a single-speed automatic transmission system with a monostable gear shifter. This crossover utilizes an all-wheel drivetrain and comes equipped with three drive modes: Whisper, Engage, and Unbridle.

This electric crossover is impressively quick off the line. It runs smoothly and quietly even at high speeds on free-flowing highways. It is not as exhilarating as its muscle car counterpart, but it can still hold its own ground out on the open road. Its electric powertrain generates a satisfying, linear power delivery. And, on top of this, it offers an impressive efficiency in the city. That said, this crossover is one of those EVs that effectively allows you to go on out-of-town trips without experiencing range anxiety.

The Mustang Mach-E is equipped with nine airbags and Ford Co-Pilot360 Technology, which includes a 360-degree view camera, adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation system, lane keeping system, blind spot information system, driver impairment monitor, rear cross traffic alert, and a reverse brake assist.

Its braking setup is also supported by an anti-lock braking system, electronic brakeforce distribution, and an electronic stability program with traction control. This crossover comes with ventilated discs for front braking, while solid discs for the rear.
