GAC Emkoo Hybrid

Upon entering the GAC Emkoo Hybrid, you are greeted by a sporty interior design that is decked out in black and enhanced by an ambient lighting system. The driver gets a high-tech cockpit that consists of a 7-inch LCD instrument cluster, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with multiple controls, and crystal-textured shift paddles, which deliver a satisfying and very elegant experience.

The GAC Emkoo Hybrid comes with a MacPherson Strut suspension at the front and a Multi-Link at the rear. Its suspension setup is tuned more for comfort than performance. That said, it absorbs bumps and other minor road imperfections quite well. It is also agile to maneuver even through tight traffic and narrow streets. However, its driving engagement could still be improved. Overall, this SUV can provide all passengers with a plush riding experience in the city.

Powering the GAC Emkoo Hybrid is a combination of a 2L Atkinson Cycle engine and an electric motor. The engine delivers 138 hp of maximum power and 180 Nm of maximum torque, while the motor generates 134 kW (180 hp) and 300 Nm. This hybrid SUV comes mated to a dedicated hybrid transmission system and utilizes a front-wheel drivetrain.

This SUV runs with enthusiasm out on the open road. Its hybrid technology offers smooth, linear power delivery, allowing you to confidently perform quick overtakes on free-flowing highways. In the city, it delivers outstanding efficiency even in constant stop-and-go traffic, boasting an NEDC fuel consumption of 20.8km/L. Its NVH suppression system is also great, resulting in a refined and very pleasant riding experience.

In terms of safety, the GAC Emkoo Hybrid is equipped with a wide array of advanced driving assistance systems, such as a surround view camera system, rear parking sensors, adaptive cruise control with integrated cruise assist, autonomous emergency braking, automatic emergency braking with vulnerable road users protection, as well as blind spot detection with lane change assistance, among others.

This hybrid SUV utilizes ventilated discs for front braking and regular discs for the rear. Its braking setup is also supported by an electronic parking brake with autohold, electronic stability program, hill-start hold control, and hill descent control.

Considering its recent price adjustment, the GAC Emkoo Hybrid currently has a strong potential to become more competitive in its segment. It is a well-rounded vehicle that offers a mix of comfort, practicality, and driving enjoyment on the road.
