Geely EX2

Inside, the Geely EX2 features a high-tech, minimalist cabin, which looks and feels very premium for its price point. Up front, the driver gets an 8.8-inch LCD instrument cluster, a microfiber leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel, and a classy vegan leather-wrapped center console (for the Max trim only).  

Meanwhile, all passengers can enjoy a 14.6-inch HD FLYME AUTO in-vehicle infotainment system that offers Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth connectivity, and is linked to a 6-speaker audio system for the Max trim. On the other hand, the Pro trim is fitted with the 4-speaker counterpart. For added convenience, this EV hatchback also comes with front and rear USB ports (only the Max trim has rear USB ports), front LED reading lights, and a wireless charger for the Max trim. 

In terms of practicality, this EV’s front row is a very nice place to be in, while the second row provides three passengers with generous legroom and thighroom. However, taller passengers may find its rear headroom a bit lacking. On the plus side, it offers a 1,320-L maximum trunk capacity with the rear seats folded, an impressive 70-L frunk space, and a 10-L passenger side storage drawer (Max trim-exclusive). Additionally, its vegan leather seats offer a great balance of comfort and ergonomics for everyone on board.

The Geely EX2’s hypermodern design strikes a balance between cuteness and confidence. Its smooth front fascia is flanked by polygonal LED automatic headlights with slim LED daytime running lights (DRLs). It proudly displays the new Geely logo, which is placed under its frunk (front trunk). Additionally, the sculpted contours on its bumper add depth to its front-end design.

On the sides, its semi-concealed door handles, along with mirrors with integrated LED turning lights, further enhance its futuristic appearance on the road. The higher-spec Max trim also flaunts a two-tone side profile, complemented by metal side skirts, for a more premium exterior look overall. The Max trim is fitted with 16-inch alloy wheels, while the Pro trim gets 15-inch steelies.

Meanwhile, at the back, its rear design exudes a hint of European styling, with its angular LED tail lights and “GEELY” lettering. This EV is also equipped with rear fog lights and a high-mounted third brake light for enhanced visibility, especially at night.

In terms of dimensions, the Geely EX2 model line measures 4,135 mm in length, 1,805 mm in width, and 1,580 mm in height. This hatchback also has a wheelbase of 2,650 mm. The Max trim offers an unladen ground clearance of 162 mm, while the Pro trim sits 160.8 mm above the ground. 

In terms of suspension, the Geely EX2 model line comes with MacPherson Struts at the front and a Multi-Link at the rear. This setup delivers an impressive balance of comfort and sportiness on the road. It handles turns or corners with confidence while ensuring that all passengers remain comfortable. This EV hatchback also offers decent absorption bumps and other minor road imperfections for its size.

The Geely EX2 is powered by a single permanent magnet synchronous motor, generating 85 kW (114 hp) of maximum power and 150 Nm of maximum torque. Feeding its motor is a 39.4-kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate battery that offers an NEDC driving range of up to 395 kilometers and supports DC fast charging time of 30-80% in just 25 minutes. This EV hatchback utilizes a rear-wheel drivetrain and comes mated to an 11-in-1 electrical drive system.

This EV hatchback is very peppy off the line, going from 0 to 50 km/h in 4.6 seconds. Its electric motor delivers smooth and instantaneous power, allowing you to overtake slower vehicles on the highway with confidence. Its three drive modes, namely, Eco, Comfort, and Sport, also give you more flexibility on the road. Its range is just enough for daily city commuting but a bit limited for longer-distance trips out of town.

Safety is one of the main strengths of the Geely EX2. This EV hatchback is equipped with a rear view camera, rear parking radars, multiple airbags, mechanical child safety locks, a low speed alert for EV driving, a trunk escape switch, an electronic anti-theft system, and burglar alarm, among others. 

Meanwhile, the Max trim also gets adaptive cruise control, an automatic emergency brake, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, intelligent high beam control, and a 360-degree panoramic view with transparent chassis view.

This EV hatchback is fitted with ventilated disc brakes at the front and rear solid discs at the rear. Its braking setup is also supported by an anti-lock braking system with electronic brakeforce distribution, a brake assist system, an anti-rolling program, and a Geely Traction Control System (G-TCS), among others.

The Geely EX2 can be considered a game-changer in the country’s hatchback segment. It balances driving enjoyment with everyday practicality, making it a versatile EV option for both young, single individuals and small families.
