JAECOO EJ6

The Jaecoo EJ6 features a minimalist cabin design that looks and feels premium thanks to all of its high-tech features. Drivers are given a 9.2-inch fully-digital instrument cluster, a multicontrol steering wheel, and a fabulous crystal rotary shifter, which is designed to provide him or her with an effortless and immensely satisfying selection of drive modes. At the heart of its dashboard is a 15.6-inch infotainment screen, which serves as the vehicle’s command center. This infotainment system consolidates pretty much all of the vehicle’s controls. That said, this might be an issue for older-gen drivers or lesser tech-savvy individuals. 

For top-notch entertainment and accessibility, its infotainment offers Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, intelligent voice control, and a 50W wireless charger. The AWD variant comes with a 12-speaker Infinity sound system, while the RWD has an 8-speaker Pioneer sound system. 

The EJ6’s cabin boasts impressive spaciousness and comfort. Its leather seats are well-bolstered and can provide top-notch cushioning and ergonomics. The co-pilot’s seat even has a built-in leg-rest. The second row also has a decent amount of room for three passengers since it has no disruptive tunnel in the middle. You also get a decent amount of storage or cubby holes inside the vehicle. And, on top of that, to enhance your overall riding experience, it has a panoramic glass roof.

The Jaecoo EJ6 sports a boxy design that blends hypermodern cues with retro-inspired elements. In my opinion, it looks like a smaller futuristic version of the Toyota FJ Cruiser or the 1st-generation Mitsubishi Pajero. Its appearance is mostly defined by the brand’s “I” design elements. Its facade is illuminated by i-themed LED headlamps that have a turned L shape. Its two-toned thick front bumper gives it a bold demeanor on the road. And, to emphasize its identity, it has a huge ‘JAECOO’ lettering at the center of its fascia.

On the sides, it has flared wheel arches and sleek flush door handles, both of which create a blend of brashness and sophistication. For an expensive sporty silhouette, it also comes with blacked-out pillars. Trailing behind this vehicle at night would certainly be a show courtesy of its unique-looking i-themed LED tail lamps. 

In terms of dimensions, the Jaecoo EJ6 line measures 4,342 mm in length, 1,930 mm in width, and 1,741 mm in height. It has a 2,715 mm wheelbase and a 225 mm ground clearance. This EV runs on a durable set of 19-inch wheels designed for off-road terrains. 

The Jaecoo EJ6 lines utilizes a suspension combination of McPherson struts at the front and H-Arm multi-links at the rear. This EV handles pretty well even on turn or twisties. Its suspension offers great stability and absorption of bumps. However, there are instances where its steering lacks real-time feedback, leading to a stiff or heavy feeling for the driver. But, overall, it remains pretty composed on the road, giving you and all your passengers a smooth and comfortable cruising experience regardless of the current road condition.

The Jaecoo EJ6 offers two powertrain options that come with different battery packs. First, the Luxury RWD variant is powered by a single motor setup that produces a maximum power output of 181 hp and a maximum torque of 220 Nm. It is equipped with a 65.59 kWh LFP battery pack that has a driving range (NEDC) of 410 kms. On the other hand, the Premium AWD variant is powered by a dual motor setup that has a maximum power output of 275 hp and a maximum torque of 385 Nm. It is equipped with a 69.77 kWh LFP battery pack that has a driving range (NEDC) of 421 kms. 

As the names suggest, the RWD variant utilizes a rear-wheel drivetrain, while the AWD variant uses an all-wheel drivetrain. The AWD variant can go from 0 to 100 kmph in just 6.5 seconds. That said, this EV has an impressive power delivery. Thanks to all its torque, it accelerates very quickly. You’d have no problem overtaking or driving at high speeds with this EV. This line also has great NVH suppression and efficiency, making it a practical and comfortable daily driver in the city.

Both variants of the Jaecoo EJ6 are equipped with 13 advanced driver assistance systems, which include adaptive cruise control and autonomous emergency braking to name a few. This line is also equipped with six airbags and a 360-degree HD panoramic camera with an under-chassis view. In terms of braking, it utilizes ventilated discs at the front and solid discs at the rear.
