Honda Wave RSX Design
The Honda Wave RSX’s design displays a nice balance of style and straightforwardness on the road. It has that sporty, no-nonsense look that is just right for its asking price. Its ‘bold front design’ is complemented by an assertive-looking halogen automatic headlamp with a pair of sharp signal lights, which resembles an aggressive owl.
Furthermore, its silhouette is enhanced by sporty branding decals and a pair of 17-inch wire-spoked wheels wrapped in tube-type tyres. Its muffler covered in a matte black case also adds more flare to its overall side profile. At the back, this underbone motorcycle comes with a high-mounted tail lamp with another pair of turn indicators.
The Wave RSX is equipped with an all-analogue sporty meter panel, which displays the fuel gauge, speedometer, and odometer. This underbone motorcycle’s dual-stepped seat might not be the plushest out there, but it still offers decent comfort and ergonomics for you and your official back rider (OBR). In terms of storage, it comes with an under-seat box that offers enough room for a half-face helmet and important documents. Additionally, your pillion also gets a built-in grab handle for better riding experience, especially at low speeds.
In terms of dimensions, the Disc Type measures 709 mm in width, while the Drum Type is 698 mm. Both variants are 1,922 mm in length, 1,082 mm in overall height, and 760 mm in seat height. This model line also comes with a wheelbase of 1,227 mm and a ground clearance of 135 mm.

Honda Wave RSX Ride & Handling
In terms of suspension, the Honda Wave RSX model line comes with a Telescopic Fork at the front and Twin Shock Absorbers at the rear. This underbone motorcycle is very light to steer and quite nimble to maneuver even through tight traffic and narrow streets. It also offers decent absorption of minor road imperfections. Ultimately, it can deliver a stable and relatively comfortable ride for your and your OBR.

Honda Wave RSX Engine & Fuel Consumption
The Honda Wave RSX model line is powered by a 109-cc, 4-stroke, SOHC, air-cooled engine that produces a maximum power output of 6.46 kW (8.8 PS) and a maximum torque of 8.70 Nm. Its engine is equipped with Honda’s electronic fuel injection system (PGM-FI) for enhanced power and efficiency. This underbone motorcycle comes mated to a 4-speed constant mesh (manual) transmission gearbox.
The Wave RSX has enough power and torque to get you and your passenger from point A to point B on time and without spending too much money. Its constant mesh transmission is also quite simple, allowing novice riders to operate this bike with ease. And, on top of this, this motorcycle boasts a WMTC fuel consumption of 69.5 kmpl, making it one of the most fuel-efficient not only in its segment but in the local market in general. Overall, the Wave RSX is definitely a well-designed daily city ride and/or workhorse.

Honda Wave RSX Braking & Safety
The Honda Wave RSX is equipped with a 4-in-1 secured key shutter, which protects it from theft or unauthorized access. Both trims utilize a mechanical leading trailing drum for rear braking. Meanwhile, at the front, the higher trim comes with a hydraulic disc brake, while the lower trim gets another mechanical leading trailing drum.

Honda Wave RSX Verdict
In my opinion, the Honda Wave RSX is a benchmark in the entry-level underbone segment. It is very practical, a respectable performer, and cost-effective in the long run. That said, it stands out as a great first motorcycle option.
