6 New Vehicles in the Philippines that Look Great in Black

Black often has a reputation for being bad, unlucky, or even evil. But in the automotive world, the color black represents power, elegance, and authority. It commands respect, and quite frankly, it makes any car look good. So for this list-ticle, we will be taking a gander on cars that will make you look more than twice when you see them on the road.  

Mercedes Benz S-Class

Mercedes Benz is well known for creating some seriously beautiful cars. From their entry level models right up to their top-of-the-line convertibles and coupes, the whole lineup just screams class and luxury. Mercedes’ cream of the crop is their S-Class lineup. Whether you opt for the saloon or the coupe body style, there really is no bad angle with the S-Class. Of all the color options available, there is nothing sexier than a blacked out Benz. It just makes the car look more regal and appealing. The S-Class starts at Php 9.490 million for the base S450 AT model.    

Ford Explorer

The Explorer is one of Ford Philippines’ challengers in the competitive seven-seater midsize SUV segment. It is equipped with either a 2.3-liter EcoBoost or a 3.5-liter V6 engine. The 2.3-liter engine delivers 270 hp and 408 Nm of torque while the 3.5-liter power unit generates 364 hp and 475 Nm. Pricing for the Explorer starts at Php 2.798 million

Hyundai Tucson

Aside from the Santa Fe and the Elantra, the Tucson is one of the awesome looking black Hyundai cars. The Tucson is a five-seater crossover that’s powered by a 2.0-liter diesel engine that delivers either 152 hp and 192 Nm of torque, or 182 hp and  402 Nm of torque, depending on the variant. The Tucson rivals the likes of the Mazda CX-5, Kia Sportage, Toyota RAV4, to name a few. Pricing for the Tucson ranges from Php 1.368-Php 1.885 million.      

Nissan Terra

There is no shortage of entries in the local SUV market. For Nissan, the newly released Terra is their challenger in the tightly contested midsize SUV segment. It rivals the likes of the Toyota Fortuner, Mitsubishi Montero Sport, Ford Everest, and Isuzu mu-X, among others. The Terra features bold, striking lines that look more handsome with black paint. It starts at Php 1.504 million for the 2.5-liter six-speed manual transmission variant.  

Mazda 3

Arguably one of the sexiest cars currently in the market, the Mazda 3 is on its best look yet. Whether you opt for the sedan or the hatchback version, this sleek vehicle is sure to transport you in style. Both variants are available with either a 1.5-liter engine that makes 109 hp and 146 Nm of torque, or a 2.0-liter engine that makes 151 hp and 200 Nm. The sedan starts at Php 1.295 million while the Sportback, Php 1.320 million  

Suzuki Jimny

The Suzuki Jimny has always been a looker since its initial release in the 70s. This small, two door SUV has recently been redesigned to look both modern and retro at the same time. The Jimny comes in three variants, all equipped with a 4-cylinder K15B engine that makes 100 hp and 130 Nm of torque. Pricing starts at Php 975,000.
