BYD to offer in-car karaoke through Stingray partnership

Now this is development that Filipinos would love to have in their vehicle.

BYD has inked partnership with Stingray — a leading music, media, and technology company — to offer in-car karaoke through its vehicles.

Under the said partnership, BYD revealed that the Chinese carmaker will incorporate Stingray’s interactive and engaging Karaoke product as an embedded app in their popular models.

Stingray’s unique Karaoke app and comprehensive library of songs is a great fit for BYD drivers and their passengers,” commented BYD Executive Vice President and BYD of Americas Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Stella Li.

According to the Shenzhen-based automotive brand, its infotainment system will allow BYD car owners to access Stingray’s massive international song catalog, browsable by title, artist, lyrics, or genre.

The karaoke app will be made compatible with BYD’s smart cockpit, which features advanced technological features such as a rotating 15.6-inch intelligent screen and a HiFi-class Dynaudio Sound System.

Leveraging over a decade of expertise in automotive and consumer electronics, BYD has attained complete autonomy in every aspect of development, from system architecture to software design, and from driver to applications. Those worrying about safety will be glad to hear that BYD and Stingray have collaborated to prioritize customers’ safety by deactivating the scrolling karaoke lyrics on the center console while the vehicle is in drive mode. In addition, the teams have innovatively introduced a Passenger App, which allows passengers to use their mobile devices to view lyrics, control the song selection, fast forward, skip ahead, and more while the audio plays through the vehicle sound system.
