CAMPI, TMA April 2017 sales up by 4.8 percent

Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indiana
The combined April 2017 sales of the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI) and the Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA) showed a 4.8 percent increase, with 29,038 units sold over the 27,697 units sold during the same month last year. Though the Passenger Car segment was down for the period with only 9,862 units sold in April 2017 compared to 9,920 units for the same month in 2016--a difference of less than one percent--the Commercial Vehicle segment grew by 7.9 percent with 19,176 units in April 2017 compared to 17,777 units in April 2016. “The modest growth in April may be attributed to the less number of working days during the month,” said CAMPI President Atty. Rommel Gutierrez. Continuing to lead the Year-to-Date sales as of April 2017 is Toyota Motor Philippines with 43.42 percent followed by Mitsubishi Motors Philippines with 17.76 percent. At third is Ford Motor Philippines with 8.44 percent, Honda Cars Philippines with 7.16 percent, and Isuzu Philippines in fifth place with 6.89 percent.
