DPWH Completes Replacement of Old Tripa de Gallina Bridge in Pasay

The total replacement of Tripa de Gallina Bridge along Buendia Avenue in Pasay City has been finished.

In his report to Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark Villar, DPWH-National Capital Region Director Ador G. Canlas said the reconstruction and strengthening of Tripa de Gallina Bridge was recently completed by the DPWH South Manila District Engineering Office.

"We are glad to announce that the newly-replaced the Tripa de Gallina Bridge is now seismic-resistant and can handle ground acceleration ranging from 7 to 8 magnitude," said Canlas.

The reconstruction of Tripa de Gallina Bridge costing PHP23.2 million came after it was identified by the DPWH Bridge Management System (BMS) Inventory as among the weak bridges that need replacement with inevitable wear and tear by about 50 years of service.
