Geely PH reaches 10k-sales milestone

Geely has reached its 10,000-sales milestone barely three years after being reintroduced in the country, its local distributor Sojitz G Auto Philippines (SGAP) shared.

  • In a statement, SGAP said that it has turned over the 10,000th unit to its customer despite the challenges that were experienced in the past two years.

     The company attributed the strong sales performance to its “aggressive network expansion and customer engagement programs.”

    “The 10,000th sales milestone for Geely Philippines in a short span of time amid the pandemic is indicative of the trust and confidence that we gained from all our customers. Something that we didn’t expect and are really grateful for,” outgoing SGAP President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Yosuke Nishi said.

    Even with only three offerings locally (Geely Coolray, Azkarra and Okavango), SGAP managed to join the Philippines’ top 10 automotive brands. Last year, SGAP sold 6,104 units — reflecting a 183-percent sales increase compared to 2020.For 2022, Geely’s local arm is eyeing to double its sales output compared to what it did last year.

    Geely Philippines’ 10,000th customer was given special recognition during the leadership turnover from Nishi to Yugo Kiyofuji.

    “Our objective now is to take SGAP to the next level and become one of the top passenger automotive brands by 2025.  We will do this by further strengthening our dealer network as well as providing the value-added service to the customers”, the newly-installed chief shared.

    Further, the company said in a statement that as the brand “continues to gain significant presence in the Philippine car market” the public can expect “more exciting vehicles that meet the market needs and offering value added services towards further customer satisfaction.”

    Last month, the SGAP introduced to the country its contender to the sedan market: the Geely Emgrand.

    Meanwhile, the refreshed Coolray was launched at the 2022 Manila International Auto Show.
