Geely shares details of Emgrand sedan

In a recent press release, Geely shared some of the details about its upcoming Emgrand sedan. According to Geely Global, the newest variation of the Emgrand offers a fresh new look with competitive specifications to match.

At the front is the X-shaped “Starburst” grille. The radiator grille is made of an intricately designed single piece with over 3,000 individual surfaces and creates an effect of energy bursting outwards which adds dynamic energy to the model’s appearance.

At the rear, the taillight ensures a grand exit: rear light clusters are made up of a total of 258 LEDs, with a rear light bar that extends the width of the car, a total of 2041 millimeters.

Tech-wise, the Emgrand will feature FOTA (firmware-over-the-air) update capabilities and L2 autonomous driver functions such as ACC (adaptive cruise control) and emergency braking for both vehicles and pedestrians (AEB and AEB-P).

It will also use the brand’s Milky Way OS that utilizes a new-generation E02 high-performance CPU chip from Geely-invested subsidiary, SiEngine Technology Co., Ltd. This chip, which boasts an 8-core processor, is more than capable of delivering the necessary processing power to the car’s various functions.

For improved driver and passenger comfort, ELKA shocks are used to improve on-the-road feel, while new upgraded seats are designed to ease pressure points reduce driver fatigue.

Power will come from a 1.4-liter engine mated to an eight-speed CVT transmission combination.

Recently, Sojitz G Auto Philippines (SGAP) announced that it is ready to enter the local sedan segment after its success in the Philippine compact crossover and SUV categories. There’s no doubt that Filipinos positively welcomed the brand, which is why it’s no surprise that the brand’s new sedan — whether it’s the Emgrand or not — comes in as one of 2022’s highly anticipated models.
