Haval Jolion HEV is ANCAP 5-star grade recipient

The Haval Jolion Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) has received a five-star rating from the Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP).

Per ANCAP evaluation, the vehicle’s hybrid version was able to score 90 percent (34.53 out of 38) in adult occupation protection, 84 percent (41.18 out of 49) in child occupant protection, 64 percent (35.05 out of 54) in vulnerable road user protection, and 92 percent (14.87 out of 16) in terms of safety assist.

The aforementioned report — which includes destructive crash testing (frontal offset and oblique pole tests) — noted the effectiveness of the Haval Jolion’s standard innovative safety features.

To note, the vehicle comes with all-scenario autonomous emergency braking, lane support system with lane keep assist, lane departure warning and emergency lane keeping, as well as advanced speed assistance system. The same report also presented the subcompact crossover’s numerous airbags (center, dual frontal, side chest-protecting, and side head-protecting airbags).>

Great Wall Motors (GWM) Philippines Marketing and Sales Director Tonette Lee said that the assessment serves as a testament to the marque’s “global strategy, and leading-edge technology.”

“To achieve a five-star ANCAP rating, production vehicles must perform at a high level across the four key safety categories and are required to meet minimum score thresholds for each star rating level. For example, a vehicle cannot achieve a five-star ANCAP safety rating without providing a good level of protection to child occupants. ANCAP’s recent five-star safety rating for the Jolion HEV highlights its excellent safety qualities, and with this, every model in the Haval line up for the Philippines is now ANCAP five-star,” she said.

“With the Haval Jolion HEV, Philippine customers get the full benefit of an innovative full hybrid crossover at an affordable price, at five-star safety” Lee added.

In addition, the Haval Jolion offers power and fuel economy. The 1.5-liter hybrid variant can deliver 186 horsepower, 375 Newton-meters of torque and an average fuel consumption of 20 kilometers per liter.

 

Inside, the Haval Jolion offers ample legroom and boot space to complement the modern interior. Its trendy design matches the 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple Carplay and Android Auto sitting in the middle of the dashboard.

Available in four trims namely the HEV DHT Supreme, DCT Supreme, DCT Max, and DCT Plus, the price of the Philippine-spec Haval Jolion starts at P1.588 million.
