Honda to sell ZR-V in Japan by April 2023

Honda announced that it will begin selling the all-new ZR-V sport utility vehicle (SUV) in Japan by April 2023.

According to the Tokyo-based carmaker, the Honda ZR-V SUV will be offered in four trims, namely Z, X, e:HEV Z, and e:HEV X.

Both the Z and X variants will be powered by a 1.5-liter VTEC Turbo engine mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT) with a torque converter. Meanwhile, the hybrid variants will draw power from a 2.0-liter direct injection Atkinson cycle engine paired with a two-motor hybrid system with an electric CVT.

Notable exterior features include a vertical grille, wide-set headlights, and a wide rear. Inside, the Japanese-spec Honda ZR-V comes with a horizontal instrument panel and a high-deck center console.

Also included is a 12-speaker audio system developed in partnership with Bose.

“The development concept of ZR-V — Unleash Your Potential — represents Honda’s desire to enable its customers to drive their vehicle ‘at the will of the driver,’ providing a greater sense of confidence and helping liberate them to unleash their unique personality to try something new,” Honda said in a press release.

The Japanese domestic market (JDM) Honda ZR-V is priced from ¥2,949 million (P1,205 million) to ¥4,119 million (P1.682 million).
