Hyundai Motor PH welcomes Ioniq 9, updated Ioniq 5

MANILA: Hyundai Motor Philippines (HMPH) has welcomed new additions to its electric vehicle lineup in the form of the Ioniq 9 and enhanced Ioniq 5. 

The two models were presented alongside the Hyundai Palisade Hybrid, which effectively strengthens the marque’s foothold in the country’s new-energy vehicle segment. 

Ioniq 9

The Hyundai Ioniq 9 for the Philippine market is touted as a full-sized electric sport utility vehicle that is ideal “for families or those seeking larger mobility options.” 

Here are some of its notable appointments:

Exterior

At its fore is a futuristic fascia with small cube projection LED headlamps on each side. Above is a horizontal light bar consisting of bold LED pixels. 

To its rear is a pair of combination lamps that share the same pixelated design as he illumination system at the front. Likewise, its LED auxiliary brake lamp also get the same retro-modern pixel treatment. 

Other noteworthy exterior features include the following: 

• Digital side mirrors
• Flush door handles 
• Roof rails 
• Panoramic sunroof 
• 21-inch alloy wheels 
• 285/45 series tires 

Interior

The cabin of the Hyundai Ioniq 9 is highlighted by several upmarket features that elevate one’s driving experience. 

For example, the driver can enjoy the electric SUV’s power relaxation seat with lumbar support, a memory feature, leg rests, and a massage function. The front passenger seat gets power relaxation, lumbar support, and a leg rest feature. 

Those slacking off on the second row will get relaxation features and their respective leg rests. The third row seating has split and power folding functions. 

Also eye-catching is the Hyundai Ioniq 9’s panoramic curved infotainment display, which seamlessly integrates digital controls and connectivity to offer intuitive access to navigation, entertainment, as well as vehicle functions and information. 

The said system combines a 12.3-inch thin-film transistor instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch infotainment unit, which sends audio to a 14-speaker Bose premium sound system. 

Powertrain

Propulsion for the Hyundai Ioniq 9 comes from a permanent magnet synchronous motor with a single-speed reduction gear paired with a 110.3 kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery. 

According to HMPH, the vehicle makes the below numbers: 

Maximum power output (in horsepower [hp>)	303
Maximum torque (in Newton-meters [Nm>)	605

Range-wise, the brand noted that the Hyundai Ioniq 9 can drive as far as 600 kilometers on a single charge. 

Made-to-order

The Ioniq 9 retails for P4.58 million with each unit — HMPH noted — “will be made-to-order.” 

It comes in a range of ten sophisticated exterior colors and four interior colors, which can be mixed and matched to up to 39 combinations, providing every customer with a personalized ownership experience:

The new Hyundai Ioniq 5 builds on its award-winning aesthetic and offers would-be owners some upgrades such as:

• New rear wiper 

The cabin of the new Hyundai Ioniq 5 gets a panoramic display system which combines the following screens: 

• 12.3-inch instrument panel
• 12.3-inch infotainment unit 

In terms of power and range, the new Ioniq 5 can produce the following figures:

The updated Hyundai Ioniq 5 is available in three variants with the following price tags:

Hyundai Ioniq 5 EV GLS 2WD Long Range	P3.698 million

“The new Ioniq 5 reaffirms Hyundai’s global vision of Progress for Humanity, pushing boundaries with sustainable, driver-centric design and evolving technology. This upgrade strengthens HMPH’s commitment to offering Filipino motorists future-ready mobility options that are both practical and inspiring,” it added.
