Hyundai PH's record-high March sales push Q1 growth to 18 percent
Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI), the official distributor of Hyundai vehicles in the Philippines, saw its highest-ever monthly sales output in its 15-year history by closing March 2017 with a record sale of 3,371 units, pushing its first quarter sales to 8,841 units--an 18 percent increase compared to the same period in 2016 at 7,469 units.
The Passenger Cars segment continues to be HARI's volume driver with 5,986 units sold in Q1 2017 for a 15 percent growth from Q1 2016's 5,186 units, with the Hyundai Accent remaining to be the brand's best-selling nameplate with 3,835 units sold for the period, or 64 percent of all passenger car sales.
Hyundai's Light Commercial Vehicles segment also grew by 23 percent for Q1 2017 at 2,855 units, with the growth being attributed to the Hyundai H-100 utility truck.
"With our recent achievements, we expect to ride on the crest of a new wave of automotive resurgence in 2017," said HARI President and CEO Ma. Fe Perez-Agudo. "Through innovation and relentless pursuit of our customers, we are confident that we will continue to forge new ground, one milestone at a time."
