Isuzu PH conducts relief ops for quake victims in Abra

Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) has extended assistance to the displaced families in Abra following the 7.0-magnitude earthquake that rocked Luzon last July 27.

The Japanese automotive brand’s local distributor said that the relief operation was made in partnership with Isuzu Isabela — one of the dealerships under B.M. Domingo Motor Sales Inc. (BMD Motors).

The company said that the province is slowly recuperating from the disaster as many are still being evacuated due to possible landslides and collapse of unstable structures that the quake left.

The IPC team — headed by Administration Division Head Imelda Bernas and Sales Assistant Division Head Robert Carlos — together with Isuzu Isabela Operations Manager Antonio Benito Mijares went to Bangued, Abra to deliver relief goods for 250 families that are currently in an evacuation center.

The turnover was done at the Abra Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office Operation Center Warehouse 1 in Calaba, wherein incoming supplies are being sorted out first before being handed over to evacuees. 

Aside from food, water and hygiene kits, hot meals for 300 individuals were also distributed during the relief operation.

Further, IPC reiterated its commitment to provide aid in times of emergency “as volunteerism has always been instilled in Isuzu DNA” as part of its Road to Progress vision. IPC considers it their responsibility to the society and country to help communities, especially in times of calamities.

Relatedly, BMD Motors (a company that is also active in organizing corporate social responsibility initiatives) is said to be celebrating its 45th anniversary this month.
