The one-off vehicle will be showcased at MUDETEC until November. In a statement, the Italian supercar manufacturer said that is offering the rare opportunity to the public to get an up-close look at the model that inspired the newly-released and final Aventador Ultimae until November.
The Lamborghini Miura Roadster, which was shown at the Carrozzeria Bertone stand at the 1968 Brussels Motor Show has remained one-off and is considered to be one of the most beautiful show cars ever made.
Lamborghini noted that the Miura Roadster’s color combination — Lamè Sky Blu for the paintwork, with white leather interior and red carpeting — was meant to impress.
Further, the vehicle did not bore any side windows or roof closure system, which allowed the Bertone stylists to maintain a unique purity of line.
“Many aesthetic changes were made compared to the Miura sedan, with the rear part completely redesigned to leave the engine fully exposed, and the secondary control switches in the cabin interior, usually mounted on the ceiling, moved to a different position,” the company said in a statement.
After appearing at the Geneva Motor Show in 1968, the model was brought back to Sant’Agata Bolognese for some road tests conducted by Lamborghini test driver Bob Wallace. The vehicle was then sold to the International Lead and Zinc Research Association (ILZRO) when it returned to Carrozzeria Bertone.
The group, Lamborghini mentioned, modified it extensively by repainting it with a dark olive green hue with a green interior, and renamed it ZN 75.
The Roadster had undergone a complete restoration in 2007-2008 by bringing it back to its original configuration.
As soon as the work was completed, the Miura Roadster was presented at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in August 2008, where it took second place in the class dedicated to Lamborghini models.
